78 ford f150

so i bought this truck sight unseen price was too good to pass on its a 78 f150 4wheel drive auto trans was told it has a 351 in it. how do i tell what 351 it is?

Most likey its a 351M (modified, a varient of the Cleveland). Best way to tell is to count the number of valve cover bolts, 6 bolts = Windsor; 8 bolts = Modified.

Yeah that's an easy way. It's also easy just to see how the thermostat housing sits up front whether it sits parallel to the block or perpendicular to it.
