6.9 IDI 2wd: C6 to ZF5

I have a 1987 F-350 SCLB that is 2wd. I am planning on doing the ZF5 swap from the current C6 that is in it, and have almost everything I need. I am worried about the driveshaft length. Reading mixed write ups about it, some saying that they got it to work, some saying that it won't work. My truck currently has a slip yoke driveshaft. Anyone help?

If yours was 4x4 it would work. Since it's 2x4 I have my doubts. I have done a the 4x4 swap, but haven't ever done a 2x4 trans swap.
