hey all i have the chance to buy a very nice rig that is a 1991 that originally came with a 6.2 but was replaced in 1999 with a complete drop in crate gm 6.5. this is still the all mechanical engine. it has 32,000 on new crate motor

my questions are

1. when did the better blocks come out?
2. what problems should i look for?
3. when warm how many pounds of oil pressure should it have at idle? The factory gauge shows 18-20 psi at idle then as soon as you touch the gas its up to 40-50 psi and stays there when your foots in the throttle at all, but then when you let off its back down to 18-20 psi. This thing runs and drives excellent. Are the factory gauges inaccurate?
4. with the banks kit it wont over boost it and harm things will it?
5. Can remote start be put on these older gm diesels and work correctly? its a 700r4/4l60 or 80e

Any thing i should look for thats a turn and run away from the deal type of thing?

Wow, this went by without answers this long??? Well, I guess for reference, the oil pressure looks real good, it will drop at idle. Watch out for vibrations, it would seem the main webs like to crack, had one that did that, wasn't aware of it since it was still running, but he was having problems with that. Tore it down. sure enough, it was cracked as well, explains why mine would shake itself apart, literally, couldn't keep bell housing bolts tight even with locktite. The 6.5's were built for turbos, so I can't see where that will be a problem.
Remote starts aren't real good due to the wait to start aspect, unless they have made some improvements, there probably isn't one that will work with it, and also, remotes don't work very well on any engine that has to crank very long at all. They also can be ******* onboard computers in the gas cars.
