2x4 to 4x4, will my T-case work?

folks, I am wondering in the ‘92-‘97 F250/350, from the small block motors with manual trans, to the big block and diesel motors, what is the difference for the T-case?
I have a 351w, with Zf-5 and T-case.

Is it a completely different mounting system like how the small block ZF and big block can’t be switched to mount?


I ask, because on my never ending search for an IDI I have found a couple 4x2’s with manual trans, but I need 4x4. I am planning to find a supercab long bed to swap my cab and bed onto, and axles if its a 250 (I know the maintenance on them, plus I have the nice chrome wheels and XLT trim). Im tempted by the Dually’s and to just repaint the bed extensions onto my 250 bed.

Transfer cases are not engine specific like transmission are.

Both the BW 1345 and the BW 1356 were used in multiple applications. I believe that the 1345 was even used in Rangers.
