Okay, so I've got a 1989 Ford F350, got a cluster out of a 1988 V8 gasoline. There are 4 wires going to the tach, on the clusters gray connector, these are the numbers:

Pin 4 - Ground (BLACK)
Pin 6 - Tach signal from coil (DARK GREEN/YELLOW?
Pin 7 - Unknown function (BLACK/YELLOW)
Pin 13 - Unknown function (RED/YELLOW)

So my question is, did I get the first two right, and what are the second two for?

Thanks!

I have a factory Ford ETM for '88 MY, maybe it will help?

Pin 6 - Dark Green/Yellow
Pin 7 - Black/Yellow

6 runs into a 1.8 k ohm resistor back to the positive side of the coil
7 ends up just being a ground after various stops along the way

13 appears to be simply a switched 12V to put power to the cluster

I am not an EE and reading these diagrams are not my forte. But it seems simple enough. Haynes also has a decent power flow diagram too.

Ya know, this would be great to explain clearly and make a sticky.

Probably because right now I am so damn tired I wouldn't understand if shown with a ladder diagram
