10.25 Sterling Axle Seal Leaks *** Problem found

Does the torquing of the lock nut affect the fit of the axle seal? The reason I question this is because I had new seals put in with a bit of other work. The old ones never leaked, new ones do. I tore the axles out and drums off cleaned drums and pads (left hubs on) re torqued 75lbs and 5 clicks back fill with fresh oil. One side is leaking again on appears ok. Since the seal were change probably about 3000 miles, no heavy loads.

Yeah I checked it. I did some search before I posted and the that came up. I took the hose off and can hit what has to be the axle. I did not do the work of replacing the bearings. I do know when I took them out, they were taper rollers and the cage came out, race stayed in. Not sure of the seal used but the scot seal came up in the searches as really good. That will be the next step.

Looks like the spot where the seal rides on the hub is the trouble. Is a scot seal the best option?
