Friday I'll be helping a friend change the water pump on his 04 ram 2500. Is there anything special I need to know. Like a bleeder screw or some thing?;p I work on more chevys & fords, there aren't alot of dodges around my area. thanks
not sure on the newer ones but on my 2nd gen it was just two bolts and bingo it was off - there was a bleeder on the upper water neck but I didn't use it - I just did like I always have done on all the vehicles I have owned... fill'er up and then ran her with the level action rad cap open then once she started pushing fluid out I would keep it open and let it cool down but kept an eye on the reservouir to make sure she didn't pull back air into the system.
Well, the squalling water pump bearing turned into a squalling throw out bearing. So next week the 6 speed is coming out & a new clutch kit is going in. The trucks mileage is 130,000 & change, but it is a farm truck.
