IDI owner looking to buy VW TDI
Hows it going all. Just wanted to get some info on reliability and repair costs with the VW 1.9 TDI. There's a '97 Passat close to me for sale w\ 220K miles on it. What's the life expectency on one of these if taken care of. Any known probs? I've never driven one, so I'm going in cold on this...- quickster45

Votage drop when coolant warms up-
Thought maybe glow plug controller prob, still might be but thinking maybe something else going on now. My voltage gage in the truck bounces back and forth when the glow plugs do the afterglow, but stops if the truck is cold. But once the coolant warms up, the needle on the gauge starts bouncing...- quickster45

Glow plug controller problem?
Went out this am to check for loose wires and such, being the plugs are being cycled long after starting. Started it up, and it cycled(volt gage needle back and forth), for about 10 seconds, and then off. That's the way it is normally. It's running at high idle because it's cold--didn't have to...- quickster45

Afterglow cycling won't stop
Hows it going all. Now this started about 2 weeks ago. After start up, the WTS goes off, but the volt gage keeps bouncing back and forth. So that would be the afterglow cycle,right? It used to go off right away, but now over the 2 weeks it's gone from 1 min to 2 min. Now today it stayed on for...- quickster45
