    Arghhh! Damn Belt tensioner

No problem DJ. I was literally working on the truck when I posted and by the time I saw your response, the truck was already towed. I should have checked both directions anyway but my frustration level was already pretty high! ;-)

    Arghhh! Damn Belt tensioner

I appreciate the responses. Here's what happened. Couldn't access the top bolt with a socket so a box end wrench was used. But that wouldn't work either since the there wasn't enough space for the wrench to fit on the bolt to loosen it. After much frustration, I finally grabbed a...

    Arghhh! Damn Belt tensioner

Hey gang, Have a 1994 IDI, turbo, 159k. Threw a belt yesterday and it bent the tensioner into the idle pulley and fan blade. First time the belt came off since I owned the truck (about a year). I did a search on belt tensioners and the general consensus was it was fairly simple to...

    Multiple Issues w/ 1990 non-turbo

Thanks guys, I'll try replacing the return lines on the driver side and change the fuel filter. Any suggestions on the engine running rough? It was so smooth before doing the work on the passenger side.

    Multiple Issues w/ 1990 non-turbo

Long story - short 1990 F250, no turbo, was running like a dream but leaking diesel on intake of passenger side and very hard starting after sitting a while. Had a local mechanic replace the return lines and injectors on passenger side. Injectors were replaced on the other side 2 years...

Need some suggestions for my "new" truck

Everything Mr. Roboto said and don't store any extra strips in the truck. Not only do they have a short shelf life, they are also sensitive to heat. I generally purchase a 4 pack of strips and one bottle of DCA-4. I like to check my SCAs every few months so the strips get used up quickly.

Need some suggestions for my "new" truck

Is this a decent pillar pod? http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=291 Whoa so confusing. So may options, so many questions. What type of thermocouple for EGTs? what type of adapter for water temp? Do I need wiring kits or can I cobble up stuff from home? ...

Need some suggestions for my "new" truck

You guys are great! Yup, I'm on top of the SCAs. Unfortunately, the previous owner didn't add them at his last coolant change. My fingers are crossed. I like the dash and pillar mount idea for the gages and using a remote cooler to keep the hot air out of the radiator is another great one...

Long boring story I'll make short. bad news: Bought a "lightweight" travel trailer that I thought we could tow with our minivan. Well it might have been legally possible but we would be at max capacity of van. good news: Got the OK to purchase a "new" truck to tow the trailer! Bought a...

    Body work help needed

Guys, This is great. I really appreciate the responses and insight. I was going to use the Eastwood no weld panel repair kit. It comes with blind hole holders, adhesive (obviously), flangers, dimplers, etc. But I figured I wouldn't need the flangers and dimplers for the floorboard work since...

    Body work help needed

All, This might not be the right forum but I'm looking for some suggestions on dealing with rusted floorboard and inside rocker panel. To make a long story short, i found out my 1990 F250 diesel leaks due to the metal around the visor bolts rusting away. During a hard rain, the water really...
