    '89 7.3 Starter problems

I found. the top bolt wasnt too bad. I used an extention on ratchet and worked it from the bottom. THE G/R Starter was a tad shorter so it. was.easier going in. Just remember the top bolt is shorter than the other two. Don't ask lol. Also the top bolt near the pan is for the pan. The starter has...

I had the same problem, mine was solidly fixed to the pump. I took it off and carried to the diesel shop down the road. 2 guys and 30 minutes later they had it apart. They said it was the worst they ever had seen.

    where to buy fabric dye

My neighbor used to sell used cars, after shampooing the carpets, he would mix up some Rit dye in a spray bottle and "touch-up" the carpet. I never noticed until once I saw him with a mister spraying the floor. The PO had worn the carpet down real bad but after the dye job it wasn't too bad...

please tell me i dont need a rebuild

Cheap test for water: Heat a hot plate to 212*F plus. Drop about a dime to nickle sized drop on to the hot plate. If it bubbles and/or crackles you have water.

    Help - changing water pump

I'm glad you had an easier time than I did. I bought the tool lit too, but I couldn't get the fan off to save my life. I ended up removing the pump and fan assy and took it to a deisel shop who removed it for free. I watched 2 mechanics struggle w/ airtools for 10 minutes to get it off, who then...

Rock solid now, and greasable too :) The difference in size was eaily noticable too, the Moog part was quite beefy compaired...

Don't exist in parts stores   I have run all round town trying to find one and ended up buying a new caliper. I was replacing the pads and while compressing the piston I hear a crack and the boot retainer ring fell off. I ordered the seal rebuild kit only to find after waiting a...

Which do you like better: WD-40 or PB Blaster?

WD=Water Displacing Pb blaster is my go to penetrant. Funny when I was at my tire shop, who does big rigs, they had cans of PB Blaster everywhere.

    Tie Rod

I redid my entire front this past summer w/ Moog w/ greaseable ends. I paid about 309.00 from O'Riley's. Kept having problems a few different times getting the correct parts but once I got them it all went together perfect. I used a pickle fork to separate, just go slow and they pop right off...
