Just remember the top bolt is shorter than the other two. Don't ask lol. Also the top bolt near the pan is for the pan. The starter has...

    where to buy fabric dye

My neighbor used to sell used cars, after shampooing the carpets, he would mix up some Rit dye in a spray bottle and "touch-up" the carpet. I never noticed until once I saw him with a mister spraying the floor. The PO had worn the carpet down real bad but after the dye job it wasn't too bad...

Cheap test for water: Heat a hot plate to 212*F plus. Drop about a dime to nickle sized drop on to the hot plate. If it bubbles and/or crackles you have water.

    Help - changing water pump

I'm glad you had an easier time than I did. I bought the tool lit too, but I couldn't get the fan off to save my life. I ended up removing the pump and fan assy and took it to a deisel shop who removed it for free. I watched 2 mechanics struggle w/ airtools for 10 minutes to get it off, who then...

I was having considerable amounts of shaking in my front end and chewing up tires like crazy. I rebuilt every thing from the Pittman arm to the wheels using Moog parts. Rock solid now, and greasable too :) The difference in size was eaily noticable too, the Moog part was quite beefy compaired...

    Tie Rod

I redid my entire front this past summer w/ Moog w/ greaseable ends. I paid about 309.00 from O'Riley's. Kept having problems a few different times getting the correct parts but once I got them it all went together perfect. I used a pickle fork to separate, just go slow and they pop right off...

    Got my Duelly back finally

After the drunk wrecked my truck while it was parked in my driveway I finally got it back from the shop. Lots of new body parts, fender, tailgate, taillights, bumper, and a nice smathering of fresh paint. I asked to see the shop report of the frame and while they didn't have any numbers I had...

    BlackStone Report Not What Expected.

Typical component break-in is 250 hours. Remember 1 sample does not make a trend ok? 1 sample is a baseline. I wouldn't worry too much about the Pb until one finds out what the elemetal breakdown of the Lucus oil treatment is, Pb may be an additive. Also, is this the first O/C since your...

Update: I got off the phone from the Ford Dealer, they are looking for a new bed. I asked about the rear axle and was told that the Dept manager is the one looking @ the truck. So far the only thing he knew is they were looking for a new bed. Hopefully the truck is ok and only needs a bed...

    Advantage of synthetic

The reason the aviation community used synthetics is because it will not break down as dino lubes will in high stress, high rev, high temp usage. Synthetics are just that synthetic, chemically composed/engineered for a purpose. Mineral based oils are made up of many different things and one part...
