OK, truck is running great. Trying to iron out the last hiccup and see what you guys think. Currently the truck idles nice and smooth once warm but, flip the A/c on and it has a shake only at idle. Flip the A/c off shake immediatly goes away. Wierd I know but whatcha think?
Well proud to report after 7-8 hrs of tinkering I got it running like a champ again. Found the major boost leak. Had a pretty decent air intrusion and had to reset the timing. After that I turned the pump back up 2 flats. She runs harder now than ever! Thanks for the opinions support and help...
I had the old pump up two flats. The pyro is up by the turbo foot. I usually stick to 900*. The old pump up to flats would get to 900 if you laid into all the gears or towing hard.
I'll be keeping this truck forever. I'd spend the $200 after what im already out for previous "install and timing". As far as a pyrometers I have one it was part of the sidewinder kit. After being floored thru all the gears til the end of fourth I can't get egt over 600* and not a lick of smoke...
Lol, glad to see you do have a sense of humor! Yeah, it's the same 92 7.3. I've had it ever since my grandfather passed. I've spent most of the day correcting what appeared to be the most negligent mechanic job I think I've ever seen. Truck is running pretty well now but it's still down on...
I thought the ip was supposed to be line to line? Mines about a 1/16 off. If you're looking down on the front of
The motor the case line closest to you the ip is to the right about a 1/16?
He won't be installing the engine. I do all my own work and I already did the swap once on my 88 4x4. This was the first time I can remember that one of my vehicles went to a mechanic. He is supposed to be a diesel mechanic and said changing the pumps and timing the truck would only be $250...
I appreciate the info guys. Its a shame the truck had 102K miles. I've put a ton of effort and money into the truck. It was pretty decent after the Banks Sidewinder kit. Anyways, I'm sick of the IDI, its coming out this weekend for an EFI 460.
