US gears gear splitter/over drive
Since my 87 6.9 died I won't be needing my gear splitter/over drive unit along with a rebuilt transfer case. can a leaking return line make rough idle
Sounds just like mine (7.3). I swapped a 6.9 IP into it and it ran much differently, better but it seemed that the timing was too far advanced and I couldn't get it to stop rattling. ZF5 makes grinding clunking sound
I have a 1990 f250 7.3 with the zf5 trans. When it is idling and in nuetral without the clutch pedal pushed in the tranny makes a clunking noise and sort of a grinding noise. Ya, I know better but I thought since it the lifters are rollers they would be fine. One of these days I may learn, probably not though. Agnem, That is a great idea. I will wait to install the new injectors until I can evaluate the new cam properly. It would yield a result that is more comparable to the power the engine produced before the changes. Thanks for the input.- aaron1976

Chris @ Penn Diesel said fedural mogul lifters where $30 each so $480 altogether. A valley pan gasket set is only $69 so that is not bad. I am going to do some research on the Falcon parts. I have never heard of them so I don't know what to think.- aaron1976

Setting injection timing on a 6.9???
How many miles on your injectors? If they are over 100K they will through your timing off and or you could have one or more cylinders that fire too soon.
