I ordered the one from db also...... it was delivered today. I hope to install it this weekend if I get back in town. I was also planning to make up new battery cables this weekend too. I have some new 2/0 welding cable (it is even blue) and all the necessary ends.

    Good news and bad news...

lost 2 trans in my 79 300sd in the past 2 years, both because of reverse. I haven't gotten around to rebuilding either of them yet. Just put in a 722.3 and later model motor a couple of months ago. Quite a bit of grinding and fab work to make clearance for the rear of the oil pan. Didn't realize...

Another problem on a different car

On 116 and 126 cars the gauges and brake lights share the same fuse. Maybe it is the same for a 123. Have you upgraded to the copper/brass fuses. Got them on ebay from a seller named gabe something. I used to have a lot of intermittent electrical problems when I was using the aluminum fuses.

    Stainless Steel Freeze Plugs

Cool link! I had a city inspector try to give me a hard time on a multi-million dollar job because he thought, after performing a magnet test, that we didn't provide stainless as specified. He doesn't use the magnet test anymore. C&P from the link: All austenitic grades have very low...

Got some money to put in the old girl.

Timing chain guides. I had one break last year while driving at 80 mph and it broke the chain, cam, cam towers, valve cover, and ruined a couple of the timing gears. The guide by the cam gear is pretty easy to change. The tensioner rail/guide is harder to change, and is the one that broke (at...

I have everything laying on a workbench to do this. Kaori 26 plate heat exchanger, 10 feet of hoh, coolant wrapped goldenrod, second pollack valve, and a holley blue pump. The hoh will be used for both tanks, from the existing pollack valve to the engine compartment. The second one will allow...
