Thats a tuff move right there. The truck is a dually and its a long wheelbase crewcab. No rental trailer will handle that length, weight or width. Would it be seaf to just drive it from one place to the other. Then a cheap bus ride back to somewhere else... I suppose one could remove the outer duals and get it on a trailer but the length and weight is still a concern. Dropping a driveshaft and a car dolly will not handle it either. Just a note about what I learned here from Towcat about towing a ZF5 speed truck.. NEVER DO IT EVER... They will not splash lube the trans in neutral. You will burn down the trans towing it that way. Please drop the driveshaft if any truck no matter what trans is in them.....

Ya I think having it transported will be cheaper than me flying out and driving it back

Crew cab dually truck is gonna be expensive to ship. Id buy a bus ticket(cheap) and see if the owner wuold be willing to pick me up at the terminal, then drive it back. Thats assuming its in driving condition....

shipping cars is relatively inexpensive compared to CCduallies. you will need a dedicated hauler with a lowbed or a gooseneck. I had my '92 get sick in me one time on my commute between kali and TX. It was cheaper to run it until it dropped. the closer I got it home, the cheaper the transport was going to be. I sacrificed a motor as a result, but it was cheaper in the long run. I am building a dedicated GN trailer after that experience. Between me and a buddy of mime owning close to six CCduallies, it's a wise investment if one of these pigs break down.

Don't we still have a vehicle transporter as member here? I believe he's a friend of OldBull8, and from his pics I seem to recall him using a rather large 3- or 4-axle bumper-pull trailer - something like that should be able to handle a crew dually, no?
