MOST people will tell you to STAY AWAY from fram oil filters for diesels.

i have been using a car quest filter on my truck. the other day i was at walmart and they have the 7.3L powerstroke oil filter (p#-FL1995) for $9.50. i holds more than ours and filters finer. i am going to run that filter next change.

I know from experience and from many goverment funded ASTM testing that high efficency filters will extend the life of lubricant 3/4 times longer than OEM recommended filters.
Napa, Wix, Luberfiner, Fram, Fleetgaurd, Many others all have XE style filters available for a little extra money.
These filters extend engine life, Fuel Milage and cost less to use over the ownership of any vehicle.
But since People feel much safer using low quality products over and over thinking it is cheap insurance, they definately dont want to hear they are mistaken...

On my gassers I have always run the Fram tough guard, and been rather happy with the results. The oil was noticeably cleaner on change intervals.

That being said, I'm running a wix on the she-devil right now. Although I am planning on changing to the powerstroke filter next change. Most likely another wix, as that's what I'm running for all the other filters.

Why buy the 32 micron Nomial filter when you can get the better filter @ 10 Micron Nominal rating? Last 3/4 times longer http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlookup/PartDetail.asp?Part=51734XE

I dont like being told a standard filter is the best cause that what the OEM recommends, Why in the hell the Filter company makes a much better product to begin with?

FL1995= Wix 51734 want the best? 51734XE thank me thank me very much...

You wouldn't happen to have a list in each of the manufacturers categories as to which filters are best with some micron and flow ratings?

Why be such a jerk while dispensing good advice?

Which filter is 32 micron nominal? If it's one of the MCs, which is it and what is the source of the information? MC filter data is notoriously hard to find.
