I'm about ready to make a video of the how toos and hopefuly the correct way of repairing our engines. Below is the content....
1..... Where to Start... That First Bolt
2..... Removing the Injection Pump
3..... Removing the Return Lines
4..... Removing the Injectors
Cleaning the bores
using an injector seat reamer
5..... Timing by Pluse Method
6..... Setting The TPS for The E4OD Trans
7..... Setting The Fast Idle Solenoid
8..... Doing a Compression Test

Am I missing something any of you members would like to see....:dunno And nope.... I'm not going to "show you my back seat either or be wearing a pair of speedos like some here from Indiana do.....:angel:

Sounds like a plan to me;Sweet

I already have plenty of videos showing how to properly lift the heads with too much boost, so looks like were helping out on both ends LOL

Well David... I really don't think I could ever run my rig as you do and I aplaude you for that... My rig hauls Arabian Horses that cost well over 100,000.00 each x 3.... I need to know I'm going to get there without a induced breakdown because I'm running close to the edge... Now if this rig was a driver around town... Well I think I would see the redline several times a day giving the psd guys a smoking or the peddle pushing bikers a soot bath.... I know I have seen the red line less than 6 times.... At the 2009 ralley Mel went for a test drive after he I installed my second Moose Pump... What a ride... He told me that he was not going to drag race any truck with an E4OD in it because of how mine ran and shifted... I tried to remind him I run a triple disc converter and the trans is the BTS monster... Its garrantyed to not stick stink rip rot tear ot pull hair.... He still didn't want any of that...:sly

You got something against us Indiana folk? :backoff:backoff:backoffLOL
I also never received those batteries for Christmas. :D I do think its past due for a good (Correct) series of how-to videos for these engines. Might want to do a video on the minor differences between the 6.9 and the 7.3. (head bolt size, fuel heater/filter setup). Even though most all of us on here know those differences, on youtube a lot of people that don't know them will see the video.

is timing by "pluse method" refering to adjusting the timing? i'd like a video on how to do that.

If Gary puts her in front of the truck most of us won't really care what he does to the truck. Our attention might be elsewhere.

, but I've been sworn to secrecy.

Thanks, Gary, for refusing to wear the speedo. You wouldn't want to get that Indiana dude jealous.

Her ya go tow.....:moon::flipa:angel: Now as I'm doing this work I will be showing what things should look like. First of all you really need a clean engine to work on. I plan on showing the tools used for all this work to but... I know some wont even try to torque those three tiny 5/16 hex injection pump drive bolts to 25 lbs... I know its sacrrey but thats the required torque on those tiny bolts... they are the same exact bolts that the u joints use and Nappa sells them. Some wont torque the injectors to 35 lbs because they don't have a torque wrench... Some may even remove and install injectors with a cresent wrench and call it good. The way I do things is what I personally have found to work the best. At the 2009 ralley Mel taught me something about bleeding the trapped air from the hard lines at the injectors... Crank at wide open throttle no more than 20 seconds with th nuts tight. Then listen carefully for the **** of escaping air... I thought yeah... sure but... I actually heard it happening so I use that method now Anytime your cranking the engine to purge air from the lines use the wide open throttle setting. these engines don't use very much fuel at idle so it takes way longer at idle setting to push out any air. I jump the fender solenoid and am standing on top of the engine holding the throttle with my free hand. All this will also be in the video. The shop work will be pop testing the injectors and shiming any that are not what I want... My shop is nothing more than a bench in a two car garage but its mine and oh yes... It has a radio and a refer.... A guy needs the basics...:sly:D I call it "The Heman Women Haters Club".... Anybody know where I got that fraise from...:sly

Very interested in those video's. Especially the timing by pulse method video. I still need to get this done and can't find anyone around here that can do it.

Hey Gary, how about an oil cooler dissection? I know there's not a lot to it, but a quick one going over things like the piece that affects oil pressure would be good for us relative boob noobs. Can't wait, I'm in the same boat as stump jumper.
