I remember reading about people using a NAPA sold electric pump as a cheap alternative for our trucks. But I am wondering if it will hold up enough flow for a moose pump? What are the best options for an electric lift pump used with a moose pump? And if the NAPA pump will suffice could someone link me to the thread that details the part number and the installation instructions. I cant seem to find it. ;Sweet

I have had my Carrier Pump on my truck for a couple of months, and have been nothing but pleased with it, not sure what kind of demand the moose pump puts up but these are the specs for the Carrier per GenLightning:

• Self-priming with a 10 ft. minimum lift
• Check valve
• 4 hour dry run
• Self-regulating
• 30 GPH
• 11.5 - 9 PSI
• VCA approved EC 95/54
• 80 Micron Stainless Steel Filter
• Transient Protection
• State-of-the-Art Electronic
• Sealed Electronics
• Reverse Polarity Protection
• Corrosion Resistant over 100 hours salt spray
• Durable Transparent fuel bowl
• Light Weight - 3LBs at 7 1/4”
• Low Power Requirements 1.4 amp on average

I use the Holley Red upmp. My first Red lasted about 5 years till the motor brush area on the comutater plain wore out. Nothing left to do but buy another one. The Moose pump seems to handle this flow without any trouble. Ebay has plenty of these pumps on the really cheap side too.

We use a red in my brothers shelby mustang, do you feel the pump running, like the vibration of the pump through the floor in one of these trucks? Because you can in that car. We just deal with it in our older hot rods like that, but I'd like to know what to expect if I go that route with this truck. I know they are frickin noisy too, lol.

I'll get a pic of how mine is mounted... It's on a bracket attached to the fuel filter bracket, so I don't feel it. LOL

I used some 1/4 inch thick rubber to mount mine. I didn't make it really tight to the frame either so the sound is refreshing to me. It lets me know its working. Now if I had a fuel pressure gauge I would be running what Greenlightening has to offer.

A Moose Pump requires the same presure as a standard pump. Volume will higher at full throttle naturally, but to the best of my experience so far, the Holley Red is up to the task.

I run a Holley Red. Mine puts 3-5 psi at the filter head all day long. You can see the pressure drop when you mash the throttle, but the volume is there and it has had no problem supplying the DPS IP and injectors...........even with my DPS IP maxed out.;Sweet

I've never used the Carrier/Facet pump, but it sounds very nice. It puts out higher pressure and lower volume than the Holley Red.

Barney (flatlander) has had to move up to a Holley Blue for his rig........the Red was falling behind of this fuel demands.

Click on the "Holley Red Pump" in my sig to see a photo.

An inexpensive alternative is the Airtex. The E8012S is what I use on my Mercedes and is $30.99 at AutoZone. Don't really know the specs for your trucks but the link shows all model's ratings.

So it may be possible that the carrier pump wont flow enough fuel for a moose pump at WOT. maybe I'll be the first to find out. I like the fact that it has the filter screen and clear bowl on the pump. Hopefully he gets back with me soon about it.

i have two of those airtex pumps, just pulled the last one and replaced it with a holley blue i had around. i could not keep up the flow enough on my stock system running straight number 2. forget adding a mix of anything, it was fine in the summer but with the colder temps it was falling behind. my filter light was coming on everytime i hit the accelorator. replaced with a holley blue and my problem went away.

i like the holley but would prefer the carter. it has a far better mounting and is MUCH quiter. i returned mine because the motor quite on the road and i just bought a holley because i needed one then.

cant speak of the carriar pump, only one i havent owned yet:D

I just installed a Holley blue. It was cheaper than the red and has more flow. It came with a pressure regulator. I had to turn it down. It ran 11psi after the filter without the regulator. I installed the regulator and turned it way down to get 3-4psi.
