trans controller for a stand alone system. gutting entire engine harness.
If you get it going right this is a cool project. Lots of those 5.4 250s out there and while those motors are plentiful, this sure is gonna be a rugged setup
I noticed that when I pulled the pan off of the IHC engine compared to the f series so I already have that bolt out of the f series ready to go. Thanks for the info thoughAnother thing to remember to swap out it the one main cap bolt that the F series pick up tube bolts on to. There's no stud on the IHC version and the pick up tube will most likely break if not held on to it.
Yeah but my truck qualifies for heavy duty emissions so I don't have to worry about that and I live in an area that doesn't test for emissions on top of it.Apparently a lot of people are having problems with the 2004-up 3 valve 5.4 engines. So there may be even more trucks sitting around inviting a engine swap. Some people will have trouble though, these old engines are not going to pass smog in the newer trucks.
And from what I've researched about the engine swap issue the vehicle gets tested for smog based on the engine has in it. So if you have an older engine you go off the older smog requirementsApparently a lot of people are having problems with the 2004-up 3 valve 5.4 engines. Don't know about IL but most states do test according to the VIN rather than the installed engine, which is why that was mentioned. If it doesn't apply to you, awesome! And from what I've researched about the engine swap issue the vehicle gets tested for smog based on the engine has in it. You should be able to get a modified vehicle exemptionDon't know about IL but most states do test according to the VIN rather than the installed engine, which is why that was mentioned. If it doesn't apply to you, awesome!
