    Can I get yalls thoughts? I got a felpro gasket set for the water pump and front cover. Manual says to use aviation permatex, fel-pro gaskets come with blue sealant on them already. Do I add the permatex or not? Never been clear on what to do here. Im inclined to just follow gasket manufacturers...

    Oh yeah, bud. I just went through all of rhe lifters for the passenger side bank, took them completely apart for cleaning and reassembly. Luckily that was the only one in bad shape. Going to go through the drivers side tomorrow. More and more glad every day that I got that parts motor.

    Also, theres a lot going on here. All the intake valves had pitting at their tips and at some point, the number 1 and number 7 intake valves smacked the **** out of their pistons.

    As it stands right now, the 6.9 i have is incomplete and I cant hand turn it. May have run when it came in, but it sure wouldnt now. Clean and oily under the valve covers, though, and the injectors look good. Pump looks good too, so far. Picking up a 5/16, 12pt to pull it today. I have some hope.

    Well, the engine at the yard turned out to be a 6.9, not a 7.3 but I got it anyway. I figured there were a lot of crossover parts that would be useful to have on hand.

    Very true. Im gonna pop open the valve covers while Im there and see whats going on, take a deeper look at it. Who knows, yeah. Might make sense to swap over. I got my current injectors from Russ like 10k ago, would definitely be moving em over if I switched LOL
