Getting ready to buy a house in a few weeks as our landlord is needing us to move out so he can have family there. We were hoping to go the USDA route but since the Tryon International Equestrian Center opened up a couple of years ago, just about all the houses have been bought. We are hoping...
I ended up going with the iron mans as tirebuyer.com had a really good sale on them. It will still be a little while before my truck is back together and on the road to try them out though.
I swung the front around, chocked the rear tires and used T posts to tie it to. Got the passenger side done before it was time to go. It’ll be a few days until I can get to the drivers side as it’s supposed to rain nonstop for the next 4 days. ☹️ The sad part is that is the most level dryest...
I need some new ideas on how to keep the truck up so I can be under it removing the coil brackets. The problem is that I’m on the side of a hill and even though I have an engine hoist, 4 jack stands on pavers, and my jack under it everything is sinking in the mud and shifting over. This last...
So, after drilling a hole in the middle, using the oxyacetylene torch, and purchasing an air compressor and air chisel the rivets still won’t push out. I think drilling them all the way out is my only option left. ☹️
I also may try using the oxyacetylene torch to heat it up and see if it will knock out. Does anyone happen to know how to remove the rubber bump stop? It’s hard to see but it doesn’t feel riveted but I can seem to get it to unscrew either. I’ve not tried looking it up yet as I’m still working...
So I pulled all my 2wd suspension with the exception of the coil brackets today! I ground off the heads of the rivets and tried to push them through with the rotary hammer but had no luck so I’ll try to drill them out next week!
How far down should it be smoother before the threads? These are what I found at lowes. Should I go with the 3.5” instead to have more smooth areas or will the 3” work?
I’m guessing what he means by body lines is the wheel wells and tailgate style which is why I’m switching both to bullnose. From what I’ve been reading your tailgate is that style under the trim as long as it is the original factory one and not aftermarket. PM me what you are asking for it.
One other question then, the bed is off a bricknose but I’m putting it on a bullnose. Will bullnose DRW fenders and tailgate work on it or do I need to be searching for a whole new bed?
Nope! It was much easier than I was thinking! The reason the hoist was leaning forward was I accidentally pulled the truck too far back causing the core support to be pushing on the engine and couldn’t push the truck back uphill or push the hoist forwards in the mud. I didn’t have any issues...
I’m getting ready to purchase some bolts to install shocks on my project but not find much info online for what I need. The truck is a 1985 F350 with no shock mounts. I’m going to take the shock mounts off a 1987 F250 frame and put them in this. The rear axle is a sterling 10.25 from a 1989...
