    The trans command can easily be tested by bypassing it. Unplug both plugs and replug the truck harness into the trans harness. My 92 f350 was acting like this and it was the shift switch on the transmission

    I have a very worn out zf5, recently put syncros and bearings in it, it will not shift properly at all with mercon v only in it. It works reasonably well with 25% Lucas and mercon v.

    it has been fine no noises, was shifting hard when cold before oil change, some one put gear oil in it, shifts much better with mercon V problem feels like its in the shift housing

    You should always tow with trans in gear and transfer case in neutral. The bearing between the input shaft and main shaft is locked up. It only gets oil when the input shaft is turning
