ZF5 Input shaft seal replacement question.
It's definitely leaking, i just put a brand new clutch on it and got a little bit of trans fluid on it. Rear main was done a couple weeks ago, valve covers mid last year, and valley is only 4 years old. I've taken my share of trans apart, i was just wishing i didn't have to pull it apart...- Portuga

Well, i guess what i need to replace is my volt meter.........cookoo.... Went out in the driveway to fuss a bit more, set the FIPL to where the meter was showing 9.5-9.6V, had it set at 1.1 idle,and now the thing shifts perfect. Guess the meter is reading a bit low :confused:. Thanks guys...- Portuga

Most stupid mechanic mistake I have made so far...
Thats not too bad. I did my water pump a couple months ago, and i put the pulley backwards. Shredded a brand new belt the next day when i got to the warehouse to load up.- Portuga

Highest mileage IDI
My old 93 non turbo had 405k miles, motor never touched. it did have the zf5 changed because somebody towed it on a tow bar with the driveshaft connected. My current 94 has 174k miles, still a baby.- Portuga

Oil Leak when the a/c is on.
A puddle in the back. Also can see oil splashed on the intake manifold right under the turbo. Valley pan is new, but when i put it in i didnt know about people punching holes to drain faster. Just thought it was weird that it only happens when the ac is on. Today i was driving down the road...- Portuga

Oil Leak when the a/c is on.
Hey guys! Got a question, my truck has an oil leak up in the valley pan, which i believe its from the turbo oil return, no big deal. The thing that has me stumped is, it will only leak when the a/c is on, significantly. Probably 1/2 qt or more. But if i dont run the a/c, no leak. Does...- Portuga
