First impression towing with 6.9 NA

Sounds like a worm ip, that blue smoke is I burnt fuel. You need to time your truck. My 7.3 would get 22mpg highway if I stuck to 60. Time your truck and it’ll be a lot better

This. I’ve seen em but 90% are still drum. Not saying a switchover isn’t coming but can’t say ones better than the other like the op stated. Both have heir advantages and disadvantages

    Zf5

I would go as low as you could. I tow with my zf6 and with my large goosneck I’m always starting in first. A lot of times I’m so heavy I use granny low a lot.

Look at semis. Only drum and they’re much higher rated than any disc. They work great when functioning correctly. I highly advise you to use a different shop. You are having a serious issue. My drums on my last truck never failed over 25+ years. A lot of new trucks and cars still use drums. You...

Unfortunately poor mechanical practice will follow you with whatever brakes you decide to run. Properly setup drums require little to no maintenance and like stated will stop better than those kits listed. You have a mechanical issue. Fix that first

Towing with the new 19.5’s *pics*

I weighed both options both this and converting it to dually, and with this route I gain more than enough tire and stability for Its purpose. If I ever have enough tounge weight to exceed this setup then I’ll reposition the load.

    Valve recession specs?

Then make sure to factor in whatever you took off the block into your valve specs as they’ll be that much closer to the piston

Love the look, but after today I highly highly recommend it to anyone towing heavy.

Towing with the new 19.5’s *pics*

Yesterday was first tow with them. Vision wheels heavy hauler 81 with 225/70r19.5. Wish I would’ve done this to all my trucks. With balance beads they’re smooth and stability is so much better towing.

    Valve recession specs?

Did you take the same off the heads?

    19.5 wheel

Did you see my picture? Those are the same wheels. So you can see the offset is same as factory.

But more importantly, will it roll coal and pull b&$ches?

    19.5 wheel

They’re great wheels. I paid 175$ a piece. Also the body lift is coming off this truck so the wheels will look much better

    19.5 wheel

Here’s my setup. The vision heavy haulers. They make them in the older 8x6.5 as well. My rig is strictly for towing and today was the first test run. I run airsoft bbs for balancing and they’re an absolute dream to tow with. So much more stable! FYI I’m running the 225/70r19.5

    19.5’s on one ton

You can but the 19.5’s are inherently bad with traction so I wanted to try something with a little aggressive tread as my rv parking is in the dirt and I have a hard enough time even with the 35’s

Night and day difference towing. Finally got the stock cab bolts today so I can finally get this stupid body lift off!

looking to get back into the WMO life

Get a bedtime tee. When I had my kids I never used one. I always just mixed in 15% rug to whatever I was centrifuging. Throw some magnets in your processing tank and clean you’ll be good to go

El cheapo centrifuge (Kiwi Redneck Style !!)

Trust me it’s all trial and error! When I first started I would’ve done a lot differently. I use two pressure fuges but would’ve loved a direct drive instead

    IDI HELP NEEDED!!!

Sounds like you started in a high gear. Definately tach related. Figure out why it’s not working. That’ll throw the od light. And for anyone else reading this our psom is the same as the gassers which are abundant at the junkyards. Pull a cluster, pop the clear cover and pull the speedo out and...

    19.5’s on one ton

No problem, I see where your coming from. I researched it to death as my equipment trailer is 8200lbs before I even touch a load on it. But the steel wheels I found all were the same 5k lbs. these at 4500 is not far off and each wheel is almost 20lbs lighter. But the centers on these are 1 1/2...

    19.5’s on one ton

Ya yours look great! The 245 is what I wanted to go with as these are a 6.75 inch rim so it would give that perfectly square tire. But as much as I tow I realistically needed to go as small as I can. My new powerstroke has 35’s when I bought it and I don’t want to be anywhere near that size any...

    19.5’s on one ton

Doesn’t make sense? The steel ones are rated at 5000lb a piece, these are dot certified to 4500lb a piece. On a srw Truck that’s 9k lbs rated capacity. The center section on these is a solid 1 1/2 aluminum

was there yesterday getting some superduty stuff and seen this. The dash was gone but it looked very very low mileage. Had some B.B. injectors and even the water passage was just very light surface rust.
