BW1356 VS BW4407 Driveshaft Length Difference

It might be easier to put the flange on the tranny and the rear end and measure the distance between the center of the u-joint cups. Make sure they are phased the same; level between the u-joint cups on each end.I did this on my Jeep CJ-2a with a Turbomatic 400 in place of the standard tranny...

    Rear axle questions

IDIBRONCO - Another way to look at this is that the front's only turning when the hubs are engaged so the front's "not as important". Four wheel drive is important! It is most important when you actually NEED IT!! You will NEED IT when it doesn't work!

    Slave Cylinder Bleeding Trouble

NO! You will destroy your transmission! What you are trying to accomplish is keeping the engine AND tranny at the same rpms. This is why you have to shut off the engine to engage the tranny. Then use the starter to get the engine going. You will have to shift up to second by pulling the...

Using mech fuel pump as an air compressor??

The fuel pump only makes about 10 psi MAX. You will need at least 90 psi for air horns and other compressed air tools. So the answer is NO!

    Super smoky startup fixed!

As IDIBRONCO stated "the fuel drains back? Air is not intruding then." fuel will not drain back unless something can take its place (air). It will create a vacuum and the fuel will not drain away. I am not saying you are wrong. I just wanted to clear this up.

    Oil Leaking Down Filter

Look at the top of the engine in back. Many have discovered leaks that run down the back of the engine/bell housing. Valve covers or the manifold might be places to start looking. Good Luck as these can be difficult to find. Oh and Welcome to Oil Burners! Fill out your signature with the...

Truck died when switching gears, can’t figure out why!

It would NOT be a good idea to take apart your IP. This is a very precise pump with specific timing. If you think the IP is bad you could contact a reputable rebuilder. There are a couple here.

Unless you can heat treat it, you will warp the flange. Also drilling welds is difficult.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Arizona "But it is DRY heat!" It is still HOT. I went to the UofA in Tucson back in the late 1960s and 70s. I went to Houston, TX around the same time and I felt the difference between DRY heat and Texan heat. Like getting out of a hot ****** shower.

    Dodge 3500 towing

Oil Pressure, Water Temperature are the main two that you should have. Voltage is one you can choose if towing might cause an electrical issue.

One more thing to check; the pinon shaft and the tranny output shaft should be at the same angle (approximately). Shim the axle up or down using wedge shims.

Anyone else seeing broken front shock mounts?

YES 3/4 inch toe in is too much. I remember setting my F-350 4X4 to 1/8 to 1/4 inch toe in. Death wobble can be the result.
