4WD IDI C6 are hard to find?

Thanks again for checking and forwarding specs. It's from a 460 gasser. Gonna wait for a diesel version. Awsome it was so close to me. One of the wrecking yards in town got harassed by the county so much they closed.

4WD IDI C6 are hard to find?

Oh. For some reason I had that the BW and NP had different spline count.

4WD IDI C6 are hard to find?

I don't know, but I dont' have a cup holder in there... Maybe I need to go back to the cup holder thread.

4WD IDI C6 are hard to find?

Thanks Xolatem. Thanks for your perspective. I had already ruled out gas/deisel case swap case of the T-case adapter clocking the T-case at a different angle. Is the #9 thrust washer the one by the rear planet? I suppose I can check the manual, but just curious. As for truck, you'd have to...

Which block for mild build 6.9 or 7.3

I had no idea 6.9 pistons were not available. What are 7.3 relative to 6.9 20 tho over? Sad. I always tought I would put some 10 tho over pistons in the brown truck someday and it would outlast me. I suppose the heads are problematic too - I have in my mind no- decking the heads unless...

4WD IDI C6 are hard to find?

I wouldn't use is on my IDI (I need overdrive, not reduction), but I have an 80 bronco that will be the "family wheeler" some day. It's got a C6 too. As long as it has the 31 spine output shaft for borg warner and not what ever the new process is, I think I would useful. The problem might be...

what's a doubler? Googled it. Sounds awsome. Now I have something else I need. LOL.

4WD IDI C6 are hard to find?

I just so happens I do have an IDI on a stand with the adapter. Might be tricky to the the adapter out but with some finagling, I could make that work.

4WD IDI C6 are hard to find?

That's a good point. I got latched on to the idea that I need the diesel case, but as you point out that may not be true. Gas are easier to find and cheaper. Then I only need to worry about matching the 41 spine BW output shaft. I'll have to check the pumps aren't different. Also there is...

4WD IDI C6 are hard to find?

You can drill the big block and make it work, but the IDI pattern slightly different. Also, I've heard if you get the gas one, it clocks the transfer case at a different angle. That's my biggest concern or I'd buy 2wd Diesel, and 4wd gas put them together and swap output shaft and tailshaft...

4WD IDI C6 are hard to find?

I've got another 86 F350 that I did the zf-5 swap. That one is currently getting road worthy. Resealed steering box and blew out pitman seal. Put new one in - and now it's leaking. Redhead box on the way. But I need the other truck reliable for hauling while I work the bugs out of the z5-5.

4WD IDI C6 are hard to find?

That's the long term plan, but I'd like bulletproof towing (up to 10K) in the mean time. Current transmission seems OK, but don't tow often. It's leaking, and thought I'd go though it before pulling a boat up the 162 to bucks lake. Road is pretty steep and windy. Light traffic, but pretty...

6.9 idi not running at high rpm

If you update your signature with your truck details (not sure how I did it) like Franklin2 and I, we may be more helpful. I know it's not sucking oil from the modulator, case vacuum doesn't come from intake, but the blue smoke makes me think burning oil - if it's more white, then coolant or...

6.9 idi not running at high rpm

I think you want a analog gauge that's more like 0 -15psi maybe 10. I think when I'm running, I have like 3psi at idle. Could be wrong but it's low. This is for lift pump at the filter.

6.9 idi not running at high rpm

Where are you finding quality lift pump? I heard they all where junk. International has one but it's $800, at least that's what came up when I looked last. High pressure injection pump is way higher than 100psi.

4WD IDI C6 are hard to find?

I'm in grass valley and the closest one is 100 miles away and 700 bucks on car-part.com. I had no idea. I figured no one liked the C6 and they are pretty much bullet proof, so they should be plentiful in wrecking yards. Never been wrong without first thinking I was right. I'm hoping to get...

    Transfer case options

I swapped to BW4407 in my 86 F-350. Flange was different. Drive line was shorter - but I did ZF swap as well. Had some drivelines made. I'm happy with it. I've heard they are tough - that's why I did the swap. The flange's for the 4407 are hard to get/find. Just FYI.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Happy thanksgiving everyone. Moved project little foot (white truck) from in front of the shop to the side yard. It moves, but fuel line (fuel pump to filter) had pinhole and was leaking. Moved back to back to in front of the shop and fixed with spare I had squirreled away. Never can have...

    Battery Cable Routing...

There is a right and left battery for our trucks (different part numbers0 The posts are swapped so that you can get both positives on the inside. Good parts guy would have got that sorted out for you when he saw you buying 2 batteries, but good parts guys are hard to find these days. I don't...

    SD vs KP D60

Yeah. I'm considering same as long term plan for project little foot (I already have kingpin). Superduty is better - tougher and turn better. Kinpin is tough as I will ever need and then some. Kingpin doesn't turn great - read really wide turning radius and 3 pts turns. Kinpin fit. Kinpin...

Seriously need some help, driving myself nuts

Crud. It asked if I wanted to know how to test it and gave me instructions to walk me though the procedure. It's kinda creepy how good it is. I have had it give me the wrong answer at times, to take it with a grain of salt and double check with posts here - this place is the best place I've...

Seriously need some help, driving myself nuts

From google AI: Yes, based on the multiple concurrent symptoms, it is highly likely that the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is bad. The fact that you have no voltage reference to the TPS, no tachometer, the OD light is on, and the OBD1 code reader cannot communicate with the computer all point...

    Cleaning out cruddy injector bores

I would try to find a hex plug that fits the hole and then use a brush and compressed air. Maybe compressed air with injector installed, but backed out a bit. For sure, I woudn't want anything getting in the engine. That said I'm not an engine builder.

    Losing Prime

I had several leaks (I think). To fix the last one, I pulled the hose/plastic return line, replaced the hose, and put 2 hose clamps on the plastic hose junction. By the time I got here, I had done return line kit, olives, replaced all hoses to water separator, protected hoses from exhaust...
