Need advice with my 1992 F250 7.3 IDI

One 20 amp fuse and a VSS later, switch starts the truck and I have a speedo. So now I can take it to someone who knows what they're doing to fix this slow fuel leak/time it. Anyone in Ohio?! [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's the one!! I checked to make sure yellow/tan wires weren't burning up. I couldn't see anything other than the metal smoking, so I'm probably in the clear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That was exactly what I needed to see. I was clocking it around 30 degrees away from the firewall in comparison to your image. I bolted the same arm in the new position and the truck shifts fine. I can tell which syncros are worn versus every shift being a challenge! Next on the short list will...

It tried to improve after moving it, but the pedal eventually didn't come up to the stop, so it seems like the splines slipped. I've got a new arm coming tomorrow, is installing that correctly a four arm job? I couldn't seem to push the MC rod with enough force to make a difference. Outside of...

It was a pre bled system. I'll try clocking it after work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This time it does. Before I replaced all the components, it did not. So I'll order a pair of those clutch arms and rig up a way to take the slop out of the master while I'm tightening the lever. My problem this time was the master did NOT give before the lever was more in line. By the time...

I'll check again, but when I looked into reinforcement the gentleman who makes the kit told me my cab wasn't affected by that problem usually. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Need advice with my 1992 F250 7.3 IDI

I got my truck all back together this morning. New pedalbox, master and slave, clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, shift fork and the ball it lives on! The bad news is the clutch still won't disengage. The only gear I can get into is reverse; which is exactly what got me in this mess. My guess...

I'm just looking for a seal that will work with the sleeve provided by Ford that is currently installed. I did order the felpro seal but returned it when I realized I didn't have the tool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well, I decided against trying to start the truck to test the seal. I know it's installed wrong, and even though it sucks I'm going to pull it all back apart and replace the cover. I'm sure I bent it on the way out, and that's the only thing I can think of that's changed since the original was...

Well I had to remove the first sleeve to attempt and install a ford combo again. The first sleeve had a nick and I thought I'd just start fresh. Well, this one did the exact same thing as the first and is installed quite deep. At this point, I'm going to bolt the flywheel up and see what...

Well, I finally got myself and my new supplies together and took a shot at the rear main seal. That plastic ford tool is a joke, and aviation permetex is the devil. The seal ended up seating way too deep in the plate, so I'm sure I'll have to replace that. But the good news is the sleeve...

So I can't seem to find an answer to this one: Are the 92-97 clutch hydraulics interchangeable assuming you swap the whole system either way? I'm asking because I can get a prebled system for around $70 versus paying around $40 more and also having to bleed it myself. The part numbers that...

Well, the new (and correct) flywheel arrived today but there's another holdup. I ordered a Fel-pro 40697, which was cool and all... Except it didn't come with the tool to install it. I believe the 16301 part number is the plastic tool to put that seal in. The ford kit was out of stock on...

So the transmission is finally on the ground. Inspection plate was grimey, but didn't have any fresh fluids on it. Flywheel and friction disc were dry as a bone. Not even a hint of contamination. A bit late to ignore the old seals as I've ordered sleeves and seals for the engine rear main, and...

    Anyone want this 89 F350?

Hopefully someone can put the truck back on the road. The IDI that started all this for me was almost like yours, except it was crew cab. Looked like a space ship chugging along at night with the amber lights... Cartoonish length though. Anyway! Good luck with the sale.

So apparently the clutch kit I ended up ordering does not come with a new throw out bearing. The dual mass flywheel I ordered did have a pilot bearing installed that was made in USA. Probably just going to let that one live there versus replacing it with the made in China bearing from the clutch...

And it's necessary to reshim the bearings even if I'm reusing the old tapered bearings? I just plan on swapping the clutch and flywheel.

I looked at a few rebuild threads as well as the rebuild Manual. The only seal tools I see are removers and these installers: Rear: T87T-7025-BH Front: T87T-7025-EH Are there other tools I'm not seeing? It seems like using a socket to drive those seals in would work just about as well. Sent...

Look what we've started now! Haha... Anyway, i got a transmission jack from harbor freight, and I was warned that I should pay special attention while trying to move the transmission. Heard a horror story about the smaller scissor lift type tipping and nearly breaking someone's arm, so I got...
