Thewespaul,
Understood. - CHUCKLE.
My best to your kid sister & Dan, too.
Drop me a note, when you have time as we need to talk about addressing some of the issues with my 1990 PU.
yours, satx
Thewespaul,
How about having the Spring Gathering over at SAN JACINTO BATTLEFIELD PARK??
(The battleground is about 10 miles from both LA PORTE, DEER PARK & convenient for our SE Texas/Houston folks.)
yours, satx
To All:
Those who didn't "show up" MISSED OUT, imo. = A GOOD TIME was had by all who came.
I'm already looking forward to The Spring Gathering of IDI "addicts".
yours, satx
Thewespaul,
THANKS for your effort to make the Fall IDI Gathering WORK out well.
(Insert WILD APPLAUSE here for your work & effort to makes the Fall Get-together a rousing success.)
yours, tex
IDIiot,
RotflmRao.
A personal note: On Wednesday, I finally found a 1990 F250 with ZF in Houston & bought it from another club member of FTE. - It needs any number of small problems fixed & a new paint job. = DESERT TAN, Super-cab, long bed.
yours, satx
Eli,
Fyi, one of our local members at the Fall IDI Gathering says that he will fix the "irritating problems" that "BIG UGLY, TOO" has & then it's off to the paint & body shop for the refinishing.
(You note what "Miss Ellie" has already named the 1990 F250. = She immediately named the 1986...
To All,
Fwiw, I purchased the 1990 F250 Custom diesel PU in Desert Tan this afternoon. Runs FINE.
Rode the Mega-Bus to downtown Houston, was picked up by the PO, test drove it, made the deal, got out of Houston traffic without incident & just got home to The Alamo City about 10 minutes...
To All,
Fwiw, one of our GREAT members is hooking me up with a 1990 F250 diesel that has less than 200K & NOT really far away.
BTW, IF anyone needs it, I have an EXTRA/NICE fiberglass topper that is surplus to my needs & is for sale at a low price or trade for a diamond-plate toolbox or...
BrianX128,
Fwiw, my 1986 XLT Lariat (that I found stored in a hay barn in north TX) was actually NICER than that red PU & had only about 55,000 one-owner miles.
(I don't believe that I'll ever find a 30YO PU in that nice original condition again in this life.)
Every time that I think...
towcat,
I had offered to send him a check to cash or hold (by courier) until I could get there (& when I would have the cash from the bank), as pleased him.
He said, "No rush. I'll see you here tomorrow about 2PM. Call me when you get into Ft Worth & we'll complete the deal at the clerk's...
jonb96150; ALL,
If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. = Some other guy arrived at the PO house & paid him in cash for the blue PU. = !@#$%^
yours, satx
Thewespaul,
I expect that you'll see "Big Blue" there.
Btw, do you know of anyone "in our crowd" who wants/needs a nice fiberglass topper.
(I really don't need two & would happily swap one of them for a NICE chrome front bumper/diamondplate toolbox for the PU.)
yours, satx
FORDF250HDXLT; towcat,
THANKS, gents.
Fwiw, the XLT Lariat that I found is NOT a dually & other than an added fiberglass topper is essentially "factory stock".
yours, satx
Friends,
What should I expect in MPG for a one-owner/low mileage (167K) F250 XLT Lariat 4x4 diesel with the ZF & running unloaded??
(I've not owned a 4x4 in over 40 years, so I have no idea.)
yours, satx
flyarmyguns,
WELCOME ABOARD.
Neither link works for me.
How big of a PITA was installation??
(The last "old school" Ford PU that we installed a JVC double din stereo into was an "all-day job".)
yours, satx
