    Ok, back running and off the side of the road. I did have to buy new tools, didn't have any torques/star bits and needed one to remove the pulley. I looked into a new belt while I was at Napa. How do I tell if I have the "Ambulance package" on mine?

    Ok now I am on the side of the road. I think it's the belt idler pulley that failed and dropped the belt. That's if I'm seeing it right. It's the same size and lower than the tensioner. Does that pulley come off, or is it a whole unit that I have to replace?

    "Bowl" being the bottom part that comes off the filter? If so I may have one once I manage to get my filter off.

    Just took a quick look at the one in my E350 and it's adjustable. There is an adjusting screw on the upper surface that has a lock nut around it. If the trucks are running the same gearbox it should be easy. Loosening the locknut and turning in the screw some should tighten up some play...

    I would think that the gearbox is adjustable. All of my previous Fords have had an adjustable steering gearbox. But maybe that's because they were manual steering?

    Any idea how far back these brackets were used? If I can get a year spread I'll start some of my junkyard friends searching. I also see that some PS pumps are sold w/o reservoirs, are there any that can work w/ a remote reservoir? I don't know who they are but, could a mod change the topic...

    Snicklas - well I definitely have a truck PS pump. I couldn't figure why they would make it that hard to get to in a van. It's not as if things are accessible to start w/. And it does whine. Do they use the same mounting bracket, or am I going to have to change that as well when I get a new one?
