    Doomsday Dually Project

Or just go w/ a real 6x6 oil burner and avoid the roads where all that clutter is. :Thumbs Up:peelout

    Fuel issues?

It looks like they also sell them individually but they have the parts numbers different than in the kit. I'll have to call and clear that up but it looks as if I can just order a few for now and do the change of location at a more appropriate time. Thanks @chillman88

    E40d characteristics ??

Looks like we're not getting an update on this. Mine has a tendency to do that 3rd to 4th shift w/o waiting for it to build the rpms unless I'm accelerating moderately good. I did put a TPS in it a few K ago but haven't ever put a meter to it.

    Fuel issues?

I'm definitely going to contact him when I have a moment to see what can be arranged as far as parts, thanks! Of course I would love to have just one or two of the olives that I could put in now and save the relocate until I was closer to civilization and parts stores. LOL

    Fuel issues?

That's kind of what I imagined doing, only if I was doing that I'd move it as well and then the fuel line would be too short. If I can just get some olives I'll leave it in place until I'm somewhere other than open desert before moving the filter down below.

    Fuel issues?

Looks like the closest dealer is 70 miles away. Do you know what size they are and some online sources?

    Fuel issues?

Got in there and cleaned it up best I could w/ what we have on hand out here. Then I ran the pump while checking for new leaking. It seems to be coming from the filter to IP line right where it connects to the filter head. I checked and it's tight so I'm guessing it's an inverted flair(?) and...

    Fuel issues?

I'm hoping there's another option but if I need to that will be my approach. And thanks for the filter head info, I'll match that to my view and see what I come up w/.

    Fuel issues?

It runs great when started. I do have a non working fast idle solenoid so it's a bit rough running for a bit when the nights are cold but they haven't been yet this year.

    Fuel issues?

I do have an electric pump and since I have to wait for the glow plugs to do their thing I hear the pump come up to pressure. Right now it's taking longer than it should do I imagine it's squeezing some air which gets in because of the leak at the filter head?

That part was a couple years back.

    Fuel issues?

The IP was replaced a few thousand miles ago and I found a pre electric pump air leak that I fixed. At this point it starts instantly if it's been run any time up to about 6 hours previously. Now I'd like to know what the filter head config is so I can determine the leak source and how to...

    Loud rattle

I drive this `92 shuttle long distances occasionally. The rest of the time I'm driving my 50 year old deuce long distance and often following dirt tracks. I don't consider myself a good mechanic but these rigs are pretty simple.

    Fuel issues?

Ok back at it. So right now I'm getting hard starts, or not at all, when the engine is cold. I'm pretty sure it's because I have a leak at the filter head and and I get air in when it sits. I've also never tested the glow plugs and suspect that they are not in the best condition. I've reverted...

How best to replace high-pressure power steering hose....?

Speaking of hard to get to pumps . . . I would love to get a van pump on this rig. Someone put a truck pump on it, or the motor came out of a truck. It was a major pain in the *** to check or add fluid to until the AC compressor died, now it's just a pain.

Doubly so for us van people!! :D

    Reconsidering my RV setup

On my big truck which has 120psi tires and three axles I don't carry enough weight to get anywhere near that pressure. I've been using the chalk line method where you draw a line from one side of the tread to the other. Then drive a short distance on pavement and see how much of the line is...

    VANS, 3rd vs 4th Gen

My 92 has real glass rectangular headlights. One of these days I'll do the relay mode to them.

    Reconsidering my RV setup

There is space outside the frame rails behind the rear axle. I had a grey tank of about 20(?)gal on one side until I hit some tire rubber in the road several years ago and it ripped it open. There's also space behind the fuel tank between the rails and it would hold a decent size tank I think...

    Reconsidering my RV setup

Maybe, I've been getting around 13mpg and it was running poorly due to air intrusion before the electric fuel pump. I'm interested to see what it does on the next distance run now that that is sorted. At least that one has straight walls. Ours is a shallow curve, more "exciting" for doing a...

    Wiring spaghetti & unknown plugs

I did some digging and found a corresponding socket tucked into the fat amount of wiring in that corner. The socket has three wires going to it but a lt green w/ red wire was one of them and it was in matching locations in the plug. I plugged it together and now I get the dashlight that...

    Wiring spaghetti & unknown plugs

I've considered trying to get one of those to add to my manuals but most of the bus wiring got pulled when it was rewired for solar and house batts. That green wire connects to nothing and hasn't the whole time I've had it. I just finished changing the last of my battery terminal clamps to...

    Wiring spaghetti & unknown plugs

I've had some trouble w/ the alt not activating, so I decided to clean up some wiring. First I tracked these two wires from their cut and taped ends back to the solenoid that's mounted behind the driver's side headlight. They tested hot w/ the key on and went to nothing. Would they have gone...

    Hello Members with Medium duties

Wow, this thread died a horrible death. Let's try a revival. `72, M35A2, Oil burner for the last 10 years or so and my usual overlanding tow rig. This is right after I finished building the kayak racks.
