    I had an ether addicted DT530 and 3126 CAT.never figured out the 530,it blew up first,had it rebuilt,still would not start without giving it some crack. i did figure out the cat,bad injectors or injector orings.figured it out by accident.swapped the injectors cuz of a couple slight skipping...

    Whoever came up with this idea shoulda been shot in the mouth with a .50 cal sniper at close range!!! Anybody got any tricks???usually no big deal,clamp the pullie,put wrench on nut and give a couple good wacks with a hammer.not this time.ive beating on it with a hammer,3 clamps and the air...

    Where did you get the first replacements that were brittle?i do not recomend aftermarket parts for the valve cover gaskets and harnesses.theyre arent that expensive from an IH dealer.

    What are you afraid of breaking?youre not gonna break it till youre pumping over 400Hp at the wheels.with proper maintenance (oil and filter changes) you have injectors that will outlast the motor itself.no fuel return lines to leak if you look at them the wrong way.glow plugs that rarely swell...

    That little buick v6 aint gonna be in there much longer. Ive had my fair share of ford gassers.had a 79 f350 car carrier that had a 351m,after putting 3 motors in that truck in a week,we finally stuffed a 460 in it.72 f350 wrecker with a 360,gutless gas hog that couldnt get out of its own...

    Ya,i just made a deal for a 455 to stuff in it.i had a 66 GP with a 389 in it.i stuffed a 600Hp 428 in it,blew it up and went back to a 389.them 389s are fun little motors.theres nothing better than poncho power!

    Yes valve cover harness including the under cover harnesses.ive seen some SD have the clip break of the connector under the covers.the harness wiggling around in the gasket can cause your problem

    All ptos use the same bolt pattern.there are a couple different gears for the ZFs.been there done it.if the gear is wrong,just go buy the gear you need for your tranny or tcase and swap it.

    IIRC the intakes cant be swapped.the bolt pattern was changed when the intakes were changed.

    The only diffence you may run into are the intakes.there were a couple different designs used.94-97 had 2" intakes.some of the SDs had i think 2 1/2" intakes.i know the bolt patterns were also changed.other than the intakes the heads are identical.
