You dont need hybrids just to drag a trailer.youre not sled pulling or racing.stage 1s are plenty.
Stock turbo is fine as well.
Twildman or dp tuner for chip and programs.
You would most likely be fine with just the 18k mod, idm mod and exhaust.you dont need to spend a ton of money just...
Could also try gravity bleeding it.leave the cap off the master, open one bleeder at a time, just let the fluid run for a couple minutes.close it, move to the next wheel.
Have you tried bleeding the master on the truck at the lines?
Have someone pump the brakes 2 or 3 times, hold the pedal down.loosen the lines on the master.wiggle the line if needed.tighten it back up.do the same with the second line.now go around and bleed each wheel again
This usually...
Tighten the 2 14mm bolts in the tops of the fenders by the hood hinge.there is a fiber shim under those bolts that sometimes disintegrates, replace with same size stack of steel body shims if needed.I had a popping noise like you described that had me replace every bushing, ball joints in the...
Hopefully there is somebody here that knows more than I do about the 6.0.
Usual culprit is bent, burt, sticky valves.but im not sure if there's a possibility of something weird with the egr system that might cause it.
It runs fine.no shaky idle.revs right up, isnt skipping/missing.
How long did you run with bad ujoints or carrier bearing? I have never heard of ANYBODY cracking an auto bell housing unless truck pulling or serious off roading
make sure you get the right part as there are 2 different regulators for 94-97.might have been 3.1 for cali emissions,1 for 94.5-95 and 1 for 96-97.
I had pictures of them till webshots deleted them.
Hows the clutch feel? Probably the dual mass flywheel coming apart.do you like a fluttering, scrapey sounding rattle when you start it, idling and when you shut it off?
Prices vary depending on who has it and if they know what it is.prices go from 75 up 500 for a good used one.a new idm from ford is 1000 bux.I grab them everytime I find them, just dont find diesels in the yards here.I have one yard thats full of ford diesels but they wont part them.won't even...
You could have bad injector orings or ipr orings.your fuel is clean so only other way to tell is pull the valve covers, fire it up and watch around the base of the injectors for oil bubbling up around them.or just replace them.
Pull the ipr and see what the orings look like.be better off...
Id replace them soon especially if you have or suspect melted harnesses and gaskets.if it shorts the injector wiring you can burn up a thousand dollar idm.
The reason they fail is the glow plugs.I wouldn't trust the aftermarket stuff to handle the amps they draw.replace the glow plugs every year before winter.100 dollars a year to know your truck is gonna start is money very well spent.at that time bend the female connectors on the harnesses so...
Oem is the only route I recommend for parts for these motors.
Id rather spend a little more than be cheap and wonder how long the chinese junk is gonna last.the lifetime warranty is no good when youre stuck in the middle of nowhere
I have been finding 99-03 psds lately.no running gear in them though.junkyards dont seem to know the value of the idms in them.so far 3 idms found thier way into my jacket.
Nothing better than exploring a junkyard! Diesels are hard to find in the yards here.only time you find a diesel is when its totally worn out, rotten with nothing useable left on it.
I have the resistors for the idm mod if you want one.should be able to drop it in the mail to you without you having to deal with customs or whatever, right?
I would not buy the valve cover gaskets from autozone.the parts they have been selling lately are junk.ive had more comebacks in the last 3 months than ive had in 20 years cuz of thier parts failing.they are in the process of switching to all chinese parts and gaskets.they all but refused to...
While you have it apart do the 3"downpipe much easier to massage the firewall pinch weld seam with the motor out.replace the up pipe donuts with small block chevy exhaust donuts.replace turbo pedistal orings and gut the ebpv and actuator (most likely part of your oil leak).
