    Slant Nose Intercoller Install

Nowhere close to having it hooked up yet. Pipes will get fabbed/installed in conjunction with a York compressor and custom fan shroud housing windstar fans. After that, I'll hook the 5er up, and give her hell... I'll post up what the changes in boost/egts are.

    Slant Nose Intercoller Install

Been busy with work and other projects for the last year or so, haven't spent much time tinkering on the truck. But lately I've been getting the itch and collecting some parts, so here goes with the next project; an intercooler. I've seen a few different people wanting to see a intercooler...

Happy Thanksgiving, What spare parts should I have on Standby, IDI turbo?

Bailing wire, duct tape. That being said I've got about 200 pounds of tools and spare parts stuffed into my tool box. Have I ever needed to use any of them? Only once, when my fsv took a dump and I had to splice a few fuel lines together to get home.

manual fuel selector valve write up???

Yes. 2 separate 3-way valves. The cool part about 2 separate valves along with an electric fuel pump is you can transfer fuel back and forth between tanks. I cheated on the gauges; I have aftermarket gauges - one for each tank. The stock fsv could be left in the truck wired up to switch the...

    DT466 realities...

I had a DT360 in my garage for a while, and there is a lot of confusion over the DT360 vs 5.9 Cummins size. The actual engines are within 1/2" in every direction. The main difference is that the DT accesorries on the front of the engine are HUGE; they take up about 2" more room than the Cummins.

Here is some of the dually project

Yep, it was that easy for me. When I transfered the title to my name, I just checked the diesel box.

What was the best looking IDI from Ford series and so forth?

I've owned all three. They're all nice in their own ways. OBS are all around great, bricks have a love or hate front end, best stock interior. My fave is the slant nose. They have an older look to them. But they are definitely less refined in the interior - takes a little modernization to...

    Fuel Selector Valve Nightmare

Valves are identical, just different sized fittings. 3/8" for the supply, 5/16" for the return. Since my truck was originally a gasser, all of the fuel lines are now rubber.

    Superduty intercooler question

I've watched these go up for sale on Craigslist for $150-$200 over the past couple years. I cruised down to my local jy, and paid a cool $100 for one that was pulled and on the shelf. And this as a junkyard that usually prices stuff pretty high (B&R). Just need to find the time to install it...

    87 F-350 C6 to ZF-5 Conversion + GV Overdrive Build Thread

I used a burned up 89 as a donor for my 84. I just used the floor pan and TC shifter from the donor; chopped the extra hole in the floor. Gives you a little extra room to throw your junk on the trans tunnel behind the trans shifter. I had to get creative with the linkage for the TC shifter...

anybody have experiance with these pyrometers?

It also has a built in relay to send 12v to another accessory when the indicator lights. The nice part is there is an audible click that tells me to look down at the pyro.

anybody have experiance with these pyrometers?

I've had one for over 2 years now. Works great. I opted for the one with blue LED's, but otherwise the same thing. I'd say the only real drawback is finding a way to mount it in your dash: requires a 1" x 2" rectangular hole.

I'm about 1k pounds lighter towing My 5er and see from 10 - 12 mpg depending on terrain. Smaller tires (currently 35's) would probably help me out...

Cutting Zf5 ear for ATS turbo up pipe clearance?

Mine has a 085; used the install instruction for the 088, and they appear t be the same except for the airbox. States in the instructions that you have to trim that triangular chunk off of the trans for downpipe clearance. The one your down pipe is hitting in your first pic. At first, I...

    Dana 60 to Sterling Swap

Diesels had a 70, 460's came with a 60. My truck had a 60 in it. I swapped in a sterling out of a 89, melted that one down, then put in a long pinioned posi version out of a 94. The only part to deal with was the rear U-joint. Sterling yoke was considerably bigger than the Dana 60 yoke, so it...

Nice truck! Did I see that one on craigslist? Unlike everyone else around here, there's not really anything for you to do to it; all the best parts are already there.

    88 idi to 88 psd

Why do you HAVE to use a PSD dash? I understand the ECM on the PSD has to have the correct signals for mph, engine temp, oil pressure, etc. I don't see why you couldn't just use mechanical gauges. Even a mechanical speedometer driven off of the transfer case; as long as the ECM sees the signal...

Intake Hat for ATS 085 Intercooler Install

So I picked up a 2000 PSD intercooler for my truck. Currently running an ATS 085 turbo kit. My question is for those who have done a intercooler install with a 085 or 088 turbo kit. What did you guys do for the intake hat? - the hershey kiss lookin' piece that connects the turbo to the...

    Manual Tank Selector Valves

After pouring a few gallons of diesel all over the Interstate when my stock selector valve hung, I've not once regretted going to my manual setup. That Parker valve would be nice, but 2 separate valves allows you to transfer fuel from one tank to the other. You can even transfer fuel with the...

    More Hydroboost fun..

I went through the same thing. Spent an afternoon at all of the local parts houses trying to find adapter fittings. Ended up just using the stock cast iron master cylinder after elongating the two bolt holes with a die grinder. Maybe not as much improvement as the F-Superduty master (I've seen...
