I measured my stock pedal - same measurement to the center line of the pin is right at 3" via tape measure. I put the booster rod so the circle on the end is above the center line of the rod it is attached to. Not sure how it came out (wasn't paying attention), but it definitely lined up better...
If it makes you feel better, I measured with calipers, not a tape measure. It was within a few thousandths of .750"

Whatever the size difference is, I would use the stock metric bolts. Any extra play on the shank of the bolts will allow movement and where bushings and such that much quicker.

I was going to have to cut a chunk out of the ZF5 bellhousing anyway to clear the starter - it has to mount on the opposite side of the engine as a IDI - but I'd still get a workout with a mirror trying to spot the face of the dial indicator as it spun around.

Every Allison I have seen had a SAE2 bellhousing on it. I believe most all of the FS series stuff is SAE2 also. SAE2 clutches are also a standard piece; the engine specific stuff is the flywheel and block to bellhousing adapter.

When I did the hydroboost conversion on my truck a couple months ago, I laid the hydroboost brake pedal (out of a 90 F450), and my stock slantnose brake pedal next to each other and measured the difference.
The hydroboost pin is right at 3/4" closer to the pivot point than the stocker.
From what I've heard they really wake up when you start to crank up the timing. Coolest part is there's no special tools required to change the timing.

We used to surface the heads with the precups still in. We had an old school surfacer that spun really slow and had something like 16 cutters on it. If you try it with a CBN cutter (sounds like what SLE2115 was using) you're taking your chances.
