    timing questions?

If I remember correctly the timing should be 8.5* BTDC at 2000 rpm when using a pulse adapter and timing light. You line up the timing mark on the dampner with the 0* mark on the timing plate with the timing light and then look at the degrees on the meter to see how advanced or retarded the...

    E4OD Question

There are some articles at the begining of the IDI Forum. You can also do a thread search for E4OD and find numerous threads on the subject. When I cleaned all of my tranny connections and adjusted the FIPL I used a spray can of electrical contact cleaner and once the connections where dry I...

    Converter randomly unlocks

I had the same problem with my truck awhile back. It turned out to be a bad FIPL that was giving a intermitant signal only while the engine was running. It would pass the Key Off Engine Off code test, and the Key On Engine Running code test. But it produced a continuous memory code after letting...

help needed with rotunda/motorcraft timing kit

tractorman86, Is there a 3/4" boss on the front of your IP? If there is you can put a 3/4" open end wrench on it to turn and hold the IP in position while you tighten the driver side mounting nuts. Not all IPs have this front side boss, in which case you can either buy the proper tool for the...

help needed with rotunda/motorcraft timing kit

On my Alltest meter I either use the piezeo pulse sensor on the #1 injector line or I use the magnetic pickup sensor. I can't use both at the same time because the magnetic pickup uses the 20* offset to make up for where it is located on the block timing indicator, while with the pulse sensor I...

I have an Alltest timing meter with the pulse transducer and timing light. Maybe it works similar to your Rotunda unit? Low fuel mileage, ULSD & Timing

How would the higher viscosity of WMO, SVO, WVO, and biodiesel effect the timing? Usually flamable liquids that have a higher viscosity also have a higher flash point. The guys running vegi-conversion pre-heat the WVO/SVO not only so it will flow through the fuel system, but also so it will...

Just a WAG on my part Like a lot us here and on FTE I have been following the Glowplug Supertuning thread and I could very well be completly wrong but it seems to me the whole point of using the glowplugs as thermalcouple sensors is to first get baseline readings at operating temp idle and then...
