    Valve spring shim size?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CIS8CC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This kit is the one I used. These shims are big enough to get over the base of the stem that flares out a little. I also used this micrometer to set the valve spring height to 1.8. I measuredand am...

    C6 flexplate vs 94 IDIT

Not to push anything, but I do still have that flexplate from the turbo IDI. Sold the rest of the internals a while back.

    C6 flexplate vs 94 IDIT

Here is the only difference between a factory turbo flexplate and a non turbo flexplate. See the weight on one side? Turbo flexplate is on the top. This is why you can not use the flexplate you have bought if you truly have a factory turbo spec idi. You can make sure that you have a factory...

    C6 flexplate vs 94 IDIT

The spacer makes up the distance added by the transmission adapter plate that adapts the international bolt pattern to the ford transmissions. The older c6 flywheel made up the distance without a spacer. It goes like this, crankshaft, 1 inch spacer, flexplate, ring that acts to spread...

    C6 flexplate vs 94 IDIT

C6 flywheel is much heavier, but balanced differently. The flex plate for the IDIT is the only option you can run on your IDIT engine. It is lighter but balanced with a heavier weight on one side. They will bolt up to the c6 torque converter for sure(my truck was flexplate to c6 when I bought...

94 turbo spec injection pump and lines

i have an injection pump that was on an engine I bought to rebuild. Story goes the engine developed a miss and truck was put in the shop. New turbo, injection pump and injectors were installed chasing the miss, but in the end, it was a dead hole on #8. When I tire it down the rings were gone...

I have installed the comp springs on my rebuilt heads I prep for my typ4 cam install.

    Comp valve spring shim?

Buy this kit. It has the center hole large enough to get over the taper at the base of the valve stem. I found the my intake valves needed no shims to reach 1.8 installed height and my exhaust valves needed .045 to reach 1.8. This kit worked well to make that happen.

    2017 Oilburners Rally

My 6.4 was getting about 14. After I properly installed the dpf where it should be(on a shelf in my shed) and got an sct tuner and custom tyrant diesel tunes, unloaded I can get close to 20 if I keep it under 70. Plus I no longer am killing cylinder 7 and 8 with raw fuel on the exhaust stroke...

    Need new batteries

I have had pretty good luck out of the advanced auto autocraft gold series 65 batteries. I have them in my 92 idi, my 08 6.4, my expedition and out 05 e-450 psd church bus. Plus, if you buy them online and pick up in store, you can use the trt30 coupon and get 30 percent off up to 50 dollars...

    2017 Oilburners Rally

Just, finally, booked our spot for the week. She wasn't sure which site we would be in, maybe 4 and maybe 30? Either way, looking forward to it. We will be coming in Saturday the 15th. My brother in law is the music minister at first baptist church in taylorsville KY, and we want to be there...

Looked at a 6.0 today. Had a problem that seemed strange.

Yep, definitely a learning experience on not trusting the miles to empty readout! I put 1500 pounds of thinset in the bed today and the suspension only went down about an inch. 1 ton suspension is nice in my business.

Looked at a 6.0 today. Had a problem that seemed strange.

Well, the 6.4 will be making the pull to Kentucky this summer. I officially own it and so far, other than my mistake, it has been great. So, when I I was getting off the interstate heading home with it, I decided to push the needle a little too far. Gauge said I still had 20 to empty....when...

Looked at a 6.0 today. Had a problem that seemed strange.

If I finish the deal on the 08, that will be the truck that makes the trip. With 4 kids and 3 with breathing issues, the idi is just not an option. The air conditioner just can get the crew cab area cool enough for the babies. If the rally was in the winter....maybe. Plus, have you ever sat...

Looked at a 6.0 today. Had a problem that seemed strange.

Thanks for all the advice. I wasn't able to come to an agreeable price on this 04 model I have worked a deal for this 08 model. 6.4 with 105k on it. Egr has been replaced apparently. Trans was rebuilt by ford at 50k. Had it checked by my shop and they liked it. DPF will be coming off quick.

    7.3 idi head rebuild

Depends on what hard parts you need. Figure anywhere from 500 or so if all your valves and springs are good, To maybe 800 if you need all new valves and springs. This is just a guess though.

    Fuel leak and custom waves

Your pads are a little thin, and when they get completely wore out, and then metal starts digging into he rotor, that is how this happens. You really need to replace those soon. Rotor thickness is a safety issue.

    6.9 Head Work

I used hillcrest camshaft in Little Rock, AR. I had good crack free heads and did not need to replace any valves. I measured all tolerances when they were done and I am in spec on minimum thickness, valve recession,( intake and exhaust) and valve spring pressures. Light truck diesels are...
