    IDI starting issues

Yes, you can open it up and reseal it...but, getting all the advance plungers and head and rotor all seated back in? That's a different story. The machine used to properly set all the fuel delivery inside the pump is about 100,000 dollars.....

No Tach...My rig let me down

Dim OD light usually means a TCM relay problem, right? The TCM isn't getting power properly, which also causes the tach signal to not get to the tach.

WTB: misc items for turbo and IP

Sending you the solenoid on the bracket and two bolts that go with it. Should be good to go. I even tested it and it does kick out when powered.

WTB: ASAP: 3-12 point IP to IP Gear bolts

I have a bunch, BUT, have a Napa around? Go get a u joint strap kit for the driveshaft. Napa part number 33110. Comes with four of the same hardened bolts. OR, go to autozone, and order in an injection pump install kit. Pn 2k-203. Comes with them too

Photo comparison of factory turbo parts vs. NA parts

Not in these two castings, but these are both 94 model blocks. I guess what was happening here is the block casting changed to support the beefier internals, but Only the factory turbo equipped engines got the stronger turbo stuff. One of these days, I will get my hands on an older block too.

Photo comparison of factory turbo parts vs. NA parts

Yes. Balancer is different. Visually it looked the same, other than me writing turbo on it with a sharpie! You should see that later today Brian. Pics of block casting and ID numbers. These are both 1994 blocks. First one is an idiT vin code K. Second was a vin M truck. Turbo block...

That's the difference! Here is the pictures. Turbo cooler first. 24 fins visible through this hole. Now the NA cooler. 19 fins visible.

Photo comparison of factory turbo parts vs. NA parts

Found some interesting stuff when I pulled apart these two oil coolers today. Both of the coolers, one from a turbo engine and one from an NA engine, are identical. Both have 27 tubes. Not sure if they have ever been changed, but there was no rtv on either of them like you would expect if...

Photo comparison of factory turbo parts vs. NA parts

I just tore down and parted out a factory turbo engine and grabbed some side by side picture comparisons of the internals before I shipped the rods to idioit. First, the e4od flywheel. The turbo engine is on top. You will not on the engine side of the flywheel(second picture) there is a...

For the members who have done the headlight relay modifications???

Yes. Do it. I bought some of those crystal clear headlights too. Put some silver stars in it and the light is better than my 04 f-150.

    94 7.3idi testing GP relay

That wire should be the water in fuel light. The sensor it plugs in to is on the bottom of the fuel filter. I changed my filter to one that doesn't have the sensor and mine is unplugged. That's not your problem. Check the ground wire really good. It comes out of the controller and...

Lock button doesnt work any more??

I think I have got it figured out after studying my schematics for a few minutes. you have a break in a ground wire or a bad connection on the drivers side door button. here is the schematic that shows where the wire should be losing connection. if this wire is not grounded, when power is...

What rpm to pull hills ?

When pulling my travel trailer, 7k dry weight, I downshift when the rpms dip below 2000. Unless I am near the top. My EGTs stay manageable at those engine speeds, any lower and the boost gets too low. I have always thought of it this way, torque gets you moving, hp keeps you moving.

    ATTN: dually experts

Delayed pedal with hydroboost, from my personal experience, will go away when you adjust the rear shoes up properly. Also, they get out of adjustment much quicker as they are actually being used. 2wd dually adapters for the front actually bolt on the rotor through the rear. I don't...

    Many factory turbo engine parts

I bought a complete turbo motor and stripped it down. I needed the heads. Rods and Pistons are sold. Harmonic balancer is sold. Turbo kit is sold. Everything else is up for grabs. Oil cooler, probably should be resealed. Tube is a little rusty on the outside. If you need it, make...

    Ether cause this damage?

I have been doing some thinking about this failure. This truck was a service truck for an equipment company. It had a 6000 pound crane and air compressor ran off a PTO. I am betting it saw countless hours of idling. Could this damage be a result of the cylinders "washing down" with fuel?

    Ether cause this damage?

I do have the Pistons out. Idioit has bought the rods from me. When the Pistons came out, the bottome ring(oil ring maybe?)literally fell into pieces. The rings are still there, just not in and shape to seal the Pistons anymore. Just curios what might have caused it. I absolutely feel this...

    Ether cause this damage?

Other than a few gouges, there is very little cylinder wear. Not even a lip at the top. However, there are no rings left on that piston. All the other cylinders are very clean with no cracking like my other idi that I know was over fueled.
