    As an aside, my van is an 84, and until recently had all the original AC stuff. I just mounted a 508 compressor. It took a little fiddling on the mount and I needed to crimp new fittings on the hoses. But I now see vent temps of 39 degrees. It's running Enviro Safe.

    You can put a flat plate under the spring. Yes that nut is a pain. As I recall an open end wrench is the only thing that can reach it. But note, the length of that spring determines the camber angle. Don't adjust for height but rather for angle.

    After you get the pump off you may very well wish you had a fresh set of bolts, preferably stainless. They are available.

    Seized fan clutch!

    I recently replaced the fan clutches on both my IDI and PSD. On both of them they were tight enough that I used an air chisel. In any case they probably need some impact. If they are not too tight using a long wrench and smacking the end with a mallet can work.

    Shag Wagon Revival

    The filter is three parts. There are options for each. Pick a top that mounts the way you want. There are several micron ratings for the filter. A translucent bowl makes it easy to see if you have picked up a bunch of junk. I also replaced the filter assembly on my E350 PSD with the same.
