    Newish, couple questions.

Awesome rig. And while I can only assume it won't be cheap nor easy, I would love to see the suicide doors when done. There has always been a soft spot in my heart for them, regardless of what vehicle they happen to be on.

    Dynomax 19430 Exhaust System

That's an awesome tone. I really like it.

He's right, I completely spaced @typ4. This is his business site, Russ Repair located in Newberg and he is highly knowledgeable.

Check out R&D Performance for a crossover, and Banks for a downpipe. Again these parts are built around the 093, but could work. Also Cordray's Transmission does good diesel work.

a project i call, THEE WEE BASTARD

But even without rain they look so cool waving at everyone as you rev the engine. Plus there is that nearly always constant chatter as they shake.

Please please please tell me you'll run rain caps on those stacks.

Welcome, from a fellow Oregonian. If you need a quality turbo shop check out Bell Turbo in Albany. They used to be located in Philomath and have recently moved. Beyond that there are a few places that sell new CHRA (Center Housing Rotating Assemblies), but I've not seen the 088 listed. Most...

    Shake down cruise

I honestly did look at buying a newer super duty and set it up the way I want it. But after buying the pickup and tossing a few upgrades at it I quickly get into the $30k range or more. Right now I have $20k budgeted to rebuild mine, having spent about $8k of that. I understand the point...

    Shake down cruise

That is where I'm thinking, almost exactly. My end goal is to have something that puts out power in the 6.0 PSD territory, but with a lower curve for pulling. And a manual, preferably a ZF6.

    Shake down cruise

Intercooler is also my limiting factor. I want a bigger IP, but don't want to drive by the pyro which means I would need an intercooler and possible turbo upgrade to take full advantage of a bigger pump. So I don't touch it yet, because I can't help myself.

    Shake down cruise

I'm real curious to know what that turbo system does with the baby moose on it. I've been wanting a new IP, but money seems to find other priorities. Still glad you got it running and are having some luck.

    1984 7.3 powerstroke build

Check out a product called Lizard Skin. I've seen it used and it works very well as sound insulation. The exhaust will get less obnoxious as it has tube to run through. If any of the body isn't locked down tight it will exaggerate the noise level also. I'm with @IDIoit on brake lines...

    Dynomax 19430 Exhaust System

I hope this doesn't appear condescending, because my intent and tone is neither. Another option worth investigating for those wanting a full 4" is the Diamond Eye kit I mentioned earlier because it is 4" from the cat back, or in this case the y-pipe back. Looking over the photos @FoolhardyIDI...

Will you be documenting them as well? There is a gas engine section here. I enjoyed the @asmith build, and would enthusiastically read about a 38 Chevy.

    2018 Oilburners Rally

Someday I will come from the west coast for this. Sadly not this year, but I hope the rally stays alive so I can roadtrip out to meet this dedicated, yet potentially twisted, group. Big kudos to the two stepping up and riding herd on the shenanigans. I am impressed with the level of...

    Dynomax 19430 Exhaust System

Is the y pipe available alone, or only in the kit? I used the Diamond eye OBS Powerstroke 4" cat back kit on my 94 factory turbo idi, and I would imagine that it could be made to fit right behind the y pipe for N/A applications. Cool setup, I want to see and hear the finished product.

    Project Big Red

I have a similar vibration that unloaded is about 35-40 mph and it's in my carrier bearing. Any significant weight load eliminates it, or I just don't hang at those speeds unloaded for long. My experience with any SC('99 up) or CC('88 up) LB is that the carrier bearing is very sensitive to...

    TTB to Dana 60

With U code springs I did NOT need extended lines. Kept the factory lines, didn't even have to adjust the bracket. I am in possession of the PMF stainless braided kit, and yes it is all 3, for a hydroboost swap coming I don't know when.

    TTB to Dana 60

I followed this thread over on FTE to get me started. I am using U code SD springs (4800# rating). I have 285/75r16 Toyo AT 2's. It was an easy install, I did it over a weekend while I also installed Dynatrac balljoints, replaced all the steering linkage, and rebuilt wheel bearings. I would...

    Weird oil gauge movement

If you have a solid mechanical gauge that you trust, I personally would recommend leaving it alone if it's cumbersome to get to. I have the factory setup, so the sending unit sits on the turbo feed line. Easy to access. Erratic gauges can be annoying, but like many have said before it's just...

    Weird oil gauge movement

This occasionally happens to my oil pressure. The slip connection on the sending unit starts to short causing some wild gauge movement. I've had the same issue, acceleration drops it and coasting brings it back. I gently squeeze the actual slip connection with pliers when it gets frequent and...

    extra cooling.

Could it be fan design? SD PSD have the plastic fans, rather than the metal of the IDI's. Is it possible that the reduced weight and drag helps with temps and the fan is more efficient when it does engage?

    extra cooling.

So when it's time to replace my pump I will likely go this route. Flow Kooler Hi Flow no idea if it's snake oil, but a better impeller can't hurt. I also bought the Mishimoto radiator, and got it for under $400. Ebay and amazon are worth watching. However I can't say if it did any good, I...

So I actually read, and I cannot find it right now, that through the OBS era you have to be careful not to mix and match gauge cluster's because they screw with the ability of the alternator to charge. It was typically in two year breaks; 92-93, 94-95, 96-97. However there are some odd ball...
