    Need opinions on timing issue

I don't think you did like I told you to do. If you jumpered the Cold Advance Solenoid on the IP, take it off, then advance the IP that 1/16". Energizing the IP Cold Advance Solenoid all the time is NOT good. There is a cam on the throttle shaft that advances the IP timing as the throttle...

    Need opinions on timing issue

Before you spend the money to time it, I would disconnect you advance jumper and then Advance the timing about 1/16", see what happens, certainly won't hurt anything. You should get some clatter on a cold start up, then smooth out when it returns to 650 - 700 idle.

    E4OD playing tricks

Code 62 Converter clutch failure has to happen five (5) times consecutively to set the Code. Did you have it manually in 2nd gear when it happened or was it in D ? Could be that the MLPS is not set correctly or faulty.

    howdy and help

Promar engines are around $3K plus, Jasper! I wouldn't trust them. I had a Promar in my 90, ran great until I gave it to my Grandson, then his buddies trashed it.

Pull the codes. Sounds like your converter is not unlocking when coasting to a stop. Should unlock at 25 MPH or less. http://www.troublecodes.net/ford/

Will this speedo work & Psom

The VSS on the rear axle sends a signal to the P-Som, also indicates whether the ABS is working. Did you ever change the VSS or check connections and wire harness? The VSS and Tach sensors mix signals in the P-Som.

    Better cooling theory

So you don't actually have a coolant temp gauge, your going by the oil temp gauge. Is that correct?

    6.9L IP on a 7.3L?

Well, that's a lot more info. But I'd still make sure then that you don't have air intrusion. That filter to IP line will suck in air at the IP and still not leak fuel.

    6.9L IP on a 7.3L?

Forget about the hot starting. The 1st IP ran well, the 2nd IP gave you all kinds of trouble. You rotated the engine to bring the dowel slot to 4 O'clock, now you don;t know if it's at exhaust or compression on #1 cyl. #1 and #4 are both at TDC at the same time, could be 180* out of time, #4...

    Severe coolant flush how to

I once rented a space for a radiator repair shop. Old Connie would repair/flush Rads for a trucking company, his boiling tank was a Caustic solution, he would boil them overnite and flush with clear water next day, pressurize under water them for leaks and repair if necessary.

    Fuel gauge reads

The FSV (Fuel Selector Valve) is still available from Ford, last I new, the price was $260 US. The PSD's use an updated version, but don't know if the fittings and mount is the same. You can easily take your's apart and check it out, I used a 1/4" drill to just drill enough to cut the crimp off...

    wiring

Fusible Links are used close to the B+ on the Battery when that wire supplies power to something that does not or can't go thru a fuse first. Circuit breakers are like a SloBlow fuse, they are sized according to wire size and load. You wouldn't put a 20 Amp breaker on a 5 Amp load just because...

After reading all 8 pages of posts, no bodies going to change his mined about it. All I can say is GOOD LUCK with it. I could tell you how a 1990 F350 bought for $4500 turned into an $11,500 truck, but too long of a story.

Restrictor size for bypass oil filtration?

If you measured the flow at idle, you may be surprised how much more flow at running RPM (2000) there would be. At 1/16" = .0625 might be to big. I would use a 3/64" drill,. then check your flow. Here is drill sizes, Numbers, Letter and Decimal. http://www.auto-ware.com/techref/drillsizes.htm
