No break pedal, after new parts and power bleed.

You have to jack up the rear wheels and adjust the brake linings so they drag a little. The self adjusting mechanism only adjust when backing up with a hard braking.

Tach sensor and Oil Burners comes through again!

Whats the fluid look like, how many miles since last fluid change, whats the fluid level checked when HOT engine running and in Neutral. It would be good to pull the codes to see if you have any trans codes. Make sure the MLPS marks are lined up in Neutral. Could be MLPS failure. Check trans...

No gears at all until engine is shut down, restarted, then gears - E4OD

Don't know what else to say until you verify pump pressure when it happens. Edit: 130 psi at idle, up to 250 PSI in gear.

No gears at all until engine is shut down, restarted, then gears - E4OD

You would have to have little or no pump pressure to act like that. 1st and reverse is hydraulic, a complete electrical failure couldn't cause what your experiencing. The clutches need hydraulic pressure to grab. What modification did you do to the pump? Could be a broken spring, sticking...

    Need opinions on timing issue

With the Cold Advance jumpered, your 2-1/2* to 3* advanced, advancing the IP 1/16" will advance the timing 2-1/2* to 3*. You have to understand that your timing will advance even further if the IP cam is working, not fully advanced. Don't worry about the EGT's, as long as they don't go above...

What to do before new IP?

With engine OFF, unscrew the solenoid bolt until it just touches the IP throttle tab. Takes a 1/4" wrench. Like said, before a start with key ON, you have to cycle the go peddle once to set the Hi Idle.
