If you do replace the injector O'rings, make sure you know how to get rid of the oil that will go into the cylinders.

gear vendor, doug nash overdrive units.

In overdrive on the GV, you aren't supposed to have it in OD below about 20mph, so gear splitting 1st isn't recommended(note: The brainbox locks this out, manually it will do it). A little correction. Your not supposed to shift it below 25 MPH. You can wire in the two contacts on the side of...

Trying to replace thermostat, cant find replacement rubber seal

The OEM T'stat comes with that rubber sealing on the body, it's there for a reason, to seal the body so that some of cold coolant goes thru the coolant bypass when the T'stat is closed to provide some coolant circulation, that holds back most of the coolant in the heads so it heats up sooner. If...

    01 power loss

Don't know why, but it seems anything that goes wrong is usually on the drivers side. To check the injector O'rings, pull cover on drivers first, there should be oil squirting up at each injector, you'll see it, if one or more don't squirt up the same, then it's O'rings on that one. You sure...

    Glow Plug Replacement Suggestions

Another suggestion. GP's have an angle seat for sealing, if you can break that seal a couple of thousandth (1/4 turn) and it's stuck, then use PB Blaster or Kroil, move onto the next one while that one is soaking, and so forth.

    Glow Plug Replacement Suggestions

Definitely use a Six point 3/8" or 10mm deep socket on the GP's, a 12 point socket can strip the hex on the GP's if they come out hard. Always use NEVER SEIZE or like product on the threads when installing new. Some Brands coat the threads so they won't rust. Motorcraft/Beru ZD9 is best to use.

    Water pump bolt sizes?

If you have the pump with you, just measure each bolt hole depth and add a 1/2" for thread, be careful of the top two holes, if the bolts are too long they will hit the IP gear and cause trouble EDIT: If you do have the pump, lay it on a piece of paper or cardboard, punch holes for the bolts...

    94-98 Upgrade plan

With that kind if money, I would buy a 99.5 to a 2002 F250 short bed SG cab. Put a tuner in it first, then see how fast and acceleration it has.

    Shifting problems

Your trans Digital Range sensor may be bad or not lined up for neutral position, about $50. Could be the connector is loose. Don't confuse it with a MLPS. 2nd pic. Both have a line that has to be lined up for Neutral position.

Need advice with my 1992 F250 7.3 IDI

There is only one good way to replace the oil pan and that is to pull the engine. There is no way to really clean the pan rails so they won't leak after new pan install. The oil pump pickup tube and screen are about 3/8" off the bottom of the pan, that's about 11-1/2" down from the pump. Ford...

any chance anyone near me has timing equipment?

TIMING BY EAR. Advance the timing on a cold start till it clatters a little, it should then quiet down as soon as the Hi idle de-energizes and goes back to normal idle of 650 to 700 RPM, then you should be near perfect timing. Might take a few tries. Never move the IP with the engine running.

    cracked fuel injector lines

It would be very difficult to make your own. The OEM clamps are rubber lined, top and bottom, the rubber is formed to encircle the line so they clamp very tight.

White smoke indicates late timing (retarded) (half burnt fuel) or water in the fuel (Lack of Power) if an injector was stuck open you should get Black smoke exhaust. Hi EGT's, going up an incline, the engine was lugging, not hi enough RPM. How hi did your coolant temp go? It has to go up to...

My 99 7.3 will not turn over, what am I missing?

How long does the (wait to start) come on? Engine has to turn over at least 300 to 500 RPM, has to build at least 500 HPOP PSI, Disconnect the ICP, that lets the PCM take over. Is there oil on the wires of the IPR, that would indicate it's leaking and not controlling the injector pressure...

    IDI head removal question

Peeping as you call it, down into an injector hole, nothing to see except the precup. If the hood seal is bad or missing, there could very well be water in one of the missing injector holes cylinders. You'll find out when pulling the head. Setting for two years, if there did get water in those...
