    Newbie intro and radiator questions

The extra stubs you mentioned, could they have been for the line coming from the heater core, and the drain petcock? I ask because you mentioned your radiator only has two stubs, for the upper and lower rad hose; my automatic radiator has the upper and lower rad hose stubs along with the 2 trans...

Glow Plug Solutions from Classic Diesel Designs

Does that glow plug harness would work with the OEM glow plug relay / controller? I've been thinking of freshening up my glow plug wires, but I don't want to replace my relay or controller yet.

    Lifting a 94 F250 idi

Usually the people who get the death wobble from a D60 swap are people who did the job incorrectly. A lot of people try and re-use their F-250 springs, pitman arm, tie rods, etc etc, and then they wonder why their truck rides like ass and has death wobble issues. But if you get ALL the parts off...

    Blank panel in dash

It's been a long time since I've pulled the cluster. IIRC, it's just some screws on the front and some electrical connectors on the back. If you're good with using your hands in small spaces it shouldn't be too hard, just be careful with it.

    Blank panel in dash

Yup, the whole bezel is one big piece.

    Blank panel in dash

The black bezel comes right off. Pry the silver trim off with a screwdriver and it'll reveal the screws that hold the bezel in. Then the headlight knob needs to come off, you'll see a little opening on the knob big enough for a flathead screwdriver. Once all that's dealt with the only things...

Post your cold starts, they’re fun to watch

I recorded a quick video this morning. Coldest morning I've had to work so far this winter, around 36*F. The windshield was iced over, and even some ice inside the cab on the windshield. I gotta do something about the moisture in my truck. The truck didn't complain one bit though, even with air...

4.10 to 3.55 swap for $85 -- worth it? (Rear only)

Do you have a source for that? I did a quick Google search and all I found was one thread on a Mustang forum, and all the replies were people telling the OP (and the dealership that told him it was illegal) he was wrong.

    Bricknose cabin lights-- they stink!

I have one of the clear covers in my truck, it's a noticeable improvement over the milky OEM cover. I got mine off Ebay but I can't find it there anymore, but LMC has a clear lens listed and an LED bulb too. I just ordered the LED now for kicks and giggles, I've been happy with just the clear...

    Western OIlburners rally 2019

I'm not locked in yet, but I'm saving up what I can and I hope to be able to make it. I'm dying to do Pikes Peak, if we have a group of people we might be able to sweet talk someone in to letting us drive to the peak instead of taking a shuttle.

Driving down the intestate and she just died.

That's a Powerstroke thing, they use high pressure engine oil to pop the injectors. As far as the gauge reading low, don't trust the stock oil pressure gauges, they're just glorified dummy lights. You can put a real gauge on it if you're concerned about oil pressure, but that wouldn't be why it...

I didn't know that, I'll get some anti-seize on there tomorrow.

I've got half a mind to just snip the wire and be done with it. The fuel heater doesn't really do much so it wouldn't be missed, I just like keeping everything as the factory intended. I had to detour (again) because one of the new stainless fasteners cross-threaded itself on removal (I just...

    Maintenance / Repair Week

In today's episode of "it can't be this fkn hard" , the connector for the fuel heater is supposed to unplug from the top, right? Just lift it straight up to disconnect it? It's stuck on there pretty good. I tried pulling with some pliers and prying with a screwdriver, but it barely moved and...

    Maintenance / Repair Week

I've been rained out for two days, and I over-slept today (I'm enjoying my vacation :D ), so I'm lazy as hell today. Today I got that damn fastener unstuck, filing away at the connector and hitting it with the impact did the trick. The cable is saved! Tomorrow I'm tackling the fuel filter...

@Jason1377 I'm not sure where you're seeing two "left" cables listed, I'm looking at the list on Rock Auto right now and I see a left negative, right negative, and a positive cable with two terminals. I just searched for a 92 F250, I don't know anything about the ambulance packages. FWIW, the...

    Maintenance / Repair Week

I'm packed up for the night, I'll hit it again tomorrow. I tried the hammer and punch method but without having the cable in an actual vice (which I don't have) I didn't get anywhere. I've got it hosed down with PB Blaster, so hopefully it'll be more cooperative tomorrow. I'm determined to not...

That's what i've been trying, it won't twist at all in the connector. I'm using another set of pliers to hold the connector while i twist (using rubber hose to protect the connector from the tool) but i haven't gotten anywhere with that yet

    Maintenance / Repair Week

Alrighty, the new negative cables are in. I'm trying to replace the fasteners now, driver side went ok, passenger side is giving me hell. I've already cut it with a hacksaw, but it's refusing to leave the lead connector. So far the hammer hasn't worked, vice grips haven't worked, and I'm running...

    Rotella ELC, universal green, or...?

Fleetcharge is great, I've been using it for years and I like it. From what I've read it's exactly the same as the regular green stuff, it just already has SCA's added. You can get test kits if you want to keep an eye on the SCA levels, or you can be lazy like me and change it every other year...

Ahh, thank you for the clarification, I mis-read you and was thinking the spray + stainless fasteners had to go together otherwise it wouldn't work. I'm still gonna do both, rusty fasteners on battery cables drive me insane.

Thank you for the tips, I didn't know the fasteners themselves could cause all that. I'll pick up some stainless fasteners tomorrow! The warranty is going to be interesting, I got the batteries from the dealership. I tried to warranty my tach sensor a few weeks ago and they conveniently...

    Maintenance / Repair Week

I'll try that if I can't get it freed up tomorrow. I just picked up my batteries, and the guys told me that BOTH batteries tested bad and wouldn't hold a charge. If I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all LOL At least they should be under warranty, I got them only like 2 years...

    Maintenance / Repair Week

I'll look for a tool like that when I pick up my batteries. For some reason the nut and bolt just refused to budge, trying to turn the nut ended up prying that terminal out of the battery. Hopefully I don't need a new one, these batts are only 2 years old. I should be able to replace just one if...
