That sinking brake pedal.
That's what I did, even good vacuum brakes are going to be spongey. Hydro boost fixes that, and you'll have brakes that are actually GOOD :D- Golden Helmet

Hydroboost problem???
When I first put my hydroboost in it sounded worse than in your video and it did the kicking back thing too. In my case it was a DOA power steering pump though, so both the steering and the pedal were stiff. 7.3 idi coolant temp sensor
There's a square plug on the back of the driver side head, above the exhaust manifold. It's not used for anything and it's a great spot to put the sender, that way you leave the factory gauge alone and functional. Awesome, this might not be so bad afterall. Rent the pneumatic fan removal tool, drive to a local shop with a 6 pack and borrow their air, pop the fan off, drive home, water pump R&R, drive back to the shop with another 6 pack, done deal.- Golden Helmet

O'Reilly's has a reman pump for $1 cheaper than the "new" pump. Not sure what the other guys have but it doesn't really matter, if it's Chinese it's already broken.- Golden Helmet

I'm already shopping. Ordered a new Motorcraft fan clutch already ($63 before shipping from RockAuto, cheapest I've ever seen them) and I'm windowshopping on the water pump. 6.9 idk won't start randomly please help
Can you record a video of the truck trying to start? If your starter isn't spinning fast enough the truck will never start. That can be low batteries, bad cables, or the starter itself just getting old.- Golden Helmet

So what did you do with your truck today?
New alternator belt installed @ 314,450 miles. Gates belt, made in the USA, let's see if this one lasts more than 10K miles. Couldn't get my hands on the short belt today, so it's the regular length one. I'll be picking up a shorty next week hopefully, might swap it in then just to see how it does.- Golden Helmet

Look who went missing on the job today THIS is why I swapped to Hydroboost. The last time this happened I had to have the truck towed home (and I needed fresh pants), that gave me motivation to ditch the vacuum brakes. Dead batteries again
If you leave the truck a few days with the battery cables disconnected, do both batteries still have good voltage? Will they start the truck? For the mileage concern, my truck gets less than 5 miles daily (to work and back, with 3 minutes @ high idle to warm up in the morning) and I've never had...- Golden Helmet

Need new batteries
My truck had a set of Motorcraft batteries in it when I bought it, when I replaced them they were 8 years old. I replaced them with a fresh set of Motorcrafts, 2 years later they're still doing good. Check your battery cables while you're in there, these IDI's get pissy when the cables get old...- Golden Helmet
