So is it a special bulb or just a stock replacement??
Also just to be clear- you have not installed the relay on the headlights? Its kind of hard to tell what you meant.
Yes, my brother has a CC Superduty, 5er and Jeep trailer that is about 6 inches shy of the limit. He has been pulled over and measured twice in the last 6 years... so it can happen. They usually try to just write him a ticket, then he argues it and out comes the tape measure... he actually finds...
Ours is a 30 ft toyhauler. GVWR is 11,000 and we are right at that when we head out. IMHO this is about as heavy as I would want to pull in the Rockies... in the flatlands I'm sure the truck could handle a bit more.
Been researching this quite a bit for the daughter's Commando...
Some good info I've found:
And here is the AZ part number/price:
There are a bunch of other wiring diagrams floating around the interweb- the one above I like because you always have an indicator light and it uses...
More weight in Lead= more reliability, strength. Plus, like the guys above state - they are used in every big truck on the road so getting replacements is easy.
You want the baddest- watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7bOF94Iq70
There's almost no chance in hell I can go, but that right there almost had me picking up the phone to call!!
You ever consider working for PBS, NPR, or a charity? :rotflmao
You would really hate my truck- the dash spent most of its life in the hot Vegas sun and it looks like a 97 year-old smokers face.
BTW- what do I owe you for postage??
I built a Dana 60 for the rear of my Dad's Jeep; it started life as a regular 8-lug truck rear axle- we turned down the hub and re-drilled it to 5 x 5 1/2.
Because we narrowed it we ordered a set of custom 35-spline axle-shafts. Its the first rear axle that has lived and we are going on 6 or...
I know that there have been lots of issues recently, but they seem to be cleared up.
My notifications still are not working.
Makes a guy wonder if you just want him to go away, but then I doubt the mods here would be such pansies-:D Somehow I can't envision Towcat being anything less...
I have read over on some of the hot-rod boards that companies like Moser or Superior or ??? a few others I can't remember will weld the holes and redrill a set of axles for a fairly reasonable price.
Maybe they could do the brake drums/disks too. :dunno
Don't know for sure, but thought I...
Seems like it would be a good idea to ceramic coat the Ricardo cups too, as that is where alot of energy ends up heating the heads instead of pushing down on the piston. I have heard that this is where the IDI loses efficiency.
It also might explain why Ford/IH closed up the coolant flow...
Let's see... he took a 25+ year old design and made better numbers than my '07 D-max did... yeah- I would call that a success!!
I hauled a lot of heavy loads with the D-max and 350/650 is MORE than enough in any pickup truck.
Seems a little steep for a MH with 109K on it...:dunno
Our MH has 29K on it and I paid less than half that- plus its a class A with every amenity known at the time. (But not a diesel)
I'm not sure how an IDI fares, but I was told that in the motorhome world a gasser motor is pretty much...
Best mods..hmmm.
1. ZF5 speed.
2. Water/air IC install
3. Rebuilt turbo
4. captian chairs from Bronco
5. Alcoas... hey this list looks familiar....hmmm
Rebuilding motor now. Getting head studs, fresh bearings, gapless rings, slightly lower compression and a few more goodies. Should...
:dunno My old gasket measures .065 at the ring and .085 around the edges. (It may have swollen.)???
The new HS3789 VR gasket set has no documentation, but it measures .055 around the edges and at the ring its about .080- but it has not been compressed yet. I am assuming that with studs the...
Squish!!!!!!!
OK. I've been mulling this over so much my co-workers are sick to death of hearing about my motor... maybe some of you are too!:D
My factory manual says piston spec is .010-.031 over the deck.
Now if the head gasket compressed is .035 and the head is flat that leaves only .004...
