    DT466 realities...

I managed to get my Rt-6610 rebuilt and converted to OD. It is tough to use the camera when working on such a beastly trans, but here are a quick couple pics: You can see the gear timing marks. I did not have any instructions, but it was not too hard to figure out that the 1:1 (4th)...

It's Done! The Final 6.9 Project Report! (I hope)

First off, a big thanks for the excellent documentation! Loved following your build and I'm gonna miss it in some weird way... ;Sweet If your max EGT was 850, do you think you have some room to turn up the pump? :sly

Feedback on Rodney Red Radiators Please

I've also seen people claim that the smaller openings helped efficiency and Ford did it because they wanted the bigger 7.3L motor to have the same fuel economy as the 6.9L. Once read a VW engineering article on their IDI where they claimed that the hotter the pre-cups could be kept without...

    Towing RPMs

I have their 3 in 1 gauge in my CRD - The space available for gauges in these things is nil, so its about the only one that works. - My only complaint is that it loses its mind and stops working when you turn the key on and off a few times. (Like when you are hooking up a trailer, or stopping at...

Link doesn't seem to work RL. Sounds cool, but I'd like to see one.

    Live C6 removal, need answer!

It actually works pretty good. My truck is 3.54 and the ZF-5 pulls my 5th wheel quite well. Any hill will mean a drop to 4th of course...

    Started my DT360 swap yesterday

Looks real good! Your clutch linkage looks alot like the stock hydraulic that came on my 466-5 speed. It has a very short throw on it- looks very close to what you made there. Exciting to see the motor in the engine bay! Do you have any shots of the front from the side that show your...

    Live C6 removal, need answer!

Looks like you need a turbo on there just to make things a little more challenging. :)

    1st Bronco Diesel conversion...starts here!....FINALLY..

Awesome progress you are making! Not sure on the Bronco's= my F-350 sway bar is about 3" in front of the radiator- in fact, I was able to squeeze a water/air intercooler in that space. Maybe the sway bar off of a truck is different than the Broncs? Loving your description of your day! Sounds...

Scrap the 7.3 for a 6.9? How much do I need to worry about cavitation?

Is there any anti freeze left in the block that you could do an SCA test on? Not sure, but it might give you some piece of mind. Tested a junkyard 7.3 out of a '92- it looked real good. Seems like by '92 it should have been a fairly well known issue..??

Rough drawing motor mount concept Here is a very quickly thrown together, very rough concept drawing of how I am thinking about doing my mounts. I need to get some accurate measurements - engineer at work wants to build it in Solidworks and do an analysis for me. So this rough start...

    Pressure Washing Engine Compartment

Soak it with Simple Green for a bit, then rinse. Like franklin said- don't put high pressure right on connectors. I use oven cleaner on really onery grease, but you need gloves, goggles and it can eat through your paint... must be used with care.

Slow progress... Still concentrating on the girls Commando, but a few DT projects could be snuck in. :sly Here's the rear main seal and the "special" tools I used to install it: Freshly installed Front crank seal: Speedi-sleeve coming off of dampener: After a test fit it...

have a few questions after turbo install

What Black Dawg said! ^^^^ Something ain't adding up here...cookoo My truck never ran under 500-600 F on flat ground 2 psi. 10 psi was always at least 800-1000 F.

    DT466 realities...

To me, thats the beauty of it all- the whole drivetrain is matched up- and no adapters to mess with. If it turns out I don't like the non syncro 10 speed I can swap to a Fuller 6 or 7 like Heath is using. Pretty sure I'm gonna have to find a D80 or better at some point though...:sly Not...

    DT466 realities...

I have a D60 that I could swap in, but I actually prefer a 2WD dually for 95% of what I use the truck for so the goal is to keep the TTB with the DT weight. Good insight, thanks!

    DT466 realities...

Threads without pics are worthless!! Some DT Pron: This is the CM5552 that came with my motor. Its a 5 speed, but I am mostly interested in using the dual disk "pull" type clutch mechanism on the 10 speed Roadranger; as luck would have it all the parts fit the 10 speed bellhousing...

I will ask him next time I call. Or you can: Rocky Mountain Truck Parts- http://rockymountainmediumdutytruckparts.com/ As long as you are not in a big hurry I'd be happy to pick anything up and get it shipped if they don't want to do it. We go by there quite often.
