    This is a good one

I just love the "structural floor mats", blankin' mint!

89 F250 LS Diff and Disk Brakes should slip right under my 86?

Were disks a factory option in '89 or are these a conversion kit? If you can get at the VIN tag a "C5" axle would/should be 4.10 LS & "C9" 3.55 LS

Fuel is accumulating on the Valley Pan

If you're missing any of the injector line clamps the vibrations can cause leaks over time.

Power Steering pump? Need confirmation please

If it's been sitting for 6 years I would definitely flush the system. A few feet of plastic tubing from the hardware store and a barbed coupler, I can't recall the size ATM, and setup a pan or bucket to catch the old stuff. Type F p/s fluid is pretty cheap so why take a chance on old fluid.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I can't help but think that this ^^^^^ makes a lot of sense for businesses looking at new vehicles. Between the initial purchase price and cost of repairs it seems that new diesel pickup trucks are just not worth it for a lot of people's needs. An arborist friend of mine has a 2017 Dodge 6.7...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Finally got around to installing digital gauges from Auber Instrumennts. I put a dual display 1/16 DIN unit in the unused square next to the "Wait to start light" and a single display tucked into the ash tray area. The Auber 1/16 DIN gauge is a perfect fit in the dash and almost looks factory...

Fluid type in 1989 ZF5 and transfer case lubricant

I've run Royal Purple ATF in the ZF and t-case for the last 55k and like the way they shift. I briefly tried running non-detergent 30wt in the ZF and the shifting was horrid compared to ATF. FWIW I have 366k on trans and t-case which the PO of my truck kept changed with regular ol' whatever's...

Door handle control, driver side '92-'97 OBS

Trying to find just the piece that the inner door handle and cable are attached to. Small bracket with a large spring on it ought to be cheap but all I can find is the whole assembly which is way overpriced...

    Bilstiens...not liking them.

Just a thought here, but if you swap back to 2 inch blocks in the rear then your truck will rake backwards with the front higher unless you air up in back. I like the air bags on my rig and they are a must for heavy load stability--I've grossed a little over 12k and truck still handled pretty...

Middle/jump seat console fit in 1992 supercab?

When I recently bought 2 new bucket seats & brackets the guy also gave me the jump seat console and bracket but when I was installing the buckets it seemed the jump seat was a close but not quite fit. I think the seats and brackets were out of a '95 or '96 and the floor pan angles look right...

    Stumped,No start and click.

If any of your battery cables have one of those aftermarket terminals that clamp on with 2 bolts I would bet there is an issue with corrosion or oxidation.

    1987 with all the upgrades

I'm glad to see it's not just CA where old trucks are valued way over what they're worth. But nice truck none the less.

7.3 idi Wont run after installing electric pump

Don't waste yopur time moving the pump. The Facet seems to work best when it lifts the fuel rather than pushing it. They do flow less fuel--it's not an illusion. Yes I still have mine installed but it's just because I haven't had/made time to install another pump. The 9-11psi Facet works OK...

7.3 idi Wont run after installing electric pump

Perhaps the wiring to the fuel shutoff solenoid was not hooked up correctly. When you turn the key forward for the glow plugs you should hear an audible click at the IP. If your FSS doesn't open then there's no fuel to the IP.

EPA Sheriff, Nosy Karens and my truck

I am very surprised to hear that, in Texas of all places, someone would bother to complain about a vehicle that's been sitting--and I assume it's on your property and not the street because that would be a little different. I live in a very liberal and rural part of CA but have never heard of...

    What's my '93 7.3 IDI E-350 Ambulance/Motorhome worth?

Find a town with lots of hipsters and you may find a buyer willing to part with a few extra bucks. I live near one of these towns and I see plenty of ambo rigs in various states of customization and CList always seems to have one or two...

    Lost another Champion Radiator.

Bummer to hear about so many problems with champion. I have been pleasantly surprised by how well my Napa/Spectra 2 row aluminum/plastic has held together. I've run it for about 5 years now--not much freezing weather in that time--and have had zero problems with it. $300 at the time was the...

    Diesel Fuel Additives

I've used Optilube XPD, Stanadyne, and 2-stroke. I only recently started using 2-stroke at 1 ounce per gallon but I like that it's usually available and relatively cheap. Plus, I like having backup 2-stroke oil for my chainsaws and miscellaneous equipment. As far as needing an additive goes...

    Zf5 Grinding

If the noise is most pronounced when RPMs are ~1300 or below then the sound is likely related to the solid flywheel. Cruising ~1900 RPM should be quiet, relatively speaking.

    86 6.9l water pump

Also, if you pull the fan and pump with the radiator still mounted then you might want to tape a piece of cardboard across the backside of the rad just to protect those delicate fins. One slip with the fan and it's new radiator time.

    86 6.9l water pump

Buy some inexpensive special tools or maybe you can borrow from a local auto parts store. I bought an inexpensive set a few years ago and it was worth it--especially since I had a tiny leak a few days after install and it would have been irritating to have to borrow them again instead of just...

    foamy the filter

What's really odd/funny/tragic is that they are not saying the old diesels are the problem but more saying that old diesels are a problem if they are used exclusively for business purposes--it's always about the money. My truck's engine is obviously no different than an F-SUPERDUTY from the...

    Air stuck in heater core

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't coolant constantly flowing through the heater core? Also, my truck has made that gurgling noise for a couple years but only when I start the truck for the first time of the day.

    foamy the filter

I once tried the Wix filter with the foam wrap but there seemed to be a noticeable difference in performance with or without the foam wrap. I prefer without the wrap. But I also don't regularly drive in particularly dusty conditions.

    Anti lock recall???

Did you hear/read something about a recall? I checked my VIN on the Ford.com website and no recalls were indicated.
