Nope. IPR is a check valve assembly and cannot rupture externally like the ICP sensor does.
Go OEM only when replacing it or you'll be doing it again.
6.0's do not take kindly to aftermarket sensors and other components.
Here's the pinout for the ficm if you don't have it yet.
I'd say for shitzngiggles to unplug the fan clutch harness but no code popped for a fault.
Beginning to think your harness may be at fault since you have power in and out of the relay.
Any means to do a cylinder contribution test? Got something going on somewhere but not bad enough to set the cel.
For the exhaust smell, inspect the up pipe bellows or firewall for soot marks. The up pipe bellows tend to crack.
Good deal! Some people will fill them with clr and back flushing is pointless. These heater cores aren't difficult to replace. Much easier than their little brother 150's. And I agree, may not be a bad idea. Most oil coolers I see are toast at 100k.
As far as the fan clutch goes, the blue wire...
Plugged heater core. Just repleaced the one in my brother in laws truck last weekend. For the ease of changing them, not worth flushing them out. They fill up with casting media just like the oil coolers do. Flushing is just a bandaid imho.
Before you run thst thing any more, pull the passenger side valve cover and inspect the rocker for #5. That thumping thru the intake is bad news.
Could be a broken rocker or worse yet, bent intake valves for that cylinder.
Was there. Only saw 3 IDI'S there and was rolling in one of them.
Did talk with the guys at Unlimited and quite an impressive truck.
Lots of brodozers and shenanigans to be had.
If the EGR cooler is failing and being 2 gallons low on coolant, I'd be suspect of a ruptured cooler. Easiest way to confirm it is to pull the EGR valve. If the valve has a black tar gummy look to it, then the EGR cooler has failed.
@icanfixall , Gary, you can call me and can walk you thru what needs to be done if you so desire. My number is still the same. Peeling a few layers off, they aren't that bad to work on. I have actually gotten to the point of the 6.0L as my preferred engine platform to work on.
The 03 and early...
LOL Gee Rob, tell me how ya really feel.
Guys, making the call to not go was not an easy feat. Trust me, I want to be there with you crayon eatin window lickers.
Elihah, Nick is pretty bummed he isn't going to get to hang with ya.
Hating to make this post be we too are out as well. Much to my dismay, I have been dreading this post for 2 weeks now and am not pleased about it, but cannot make things happen for this trip.
Getting my share of those things in the shop lately. Can bout diagnose em without the scanner, except for the pile I have in the shop now.
Russ I am kinda jelly on that Atlas 40hp tune. Really want to have that done to mine but having the early 03 strategy I'm still on the fence as it runs like...
