Just putting around the shop, it feels way tighter. No more steering play at low speed. We'll see if it still has play on the highway, might check the rag joint. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Well, alignment is set for tomorrow. I drove it back and forth in the shop and the camber settled nicely. Bit too much toe in on the drinker side but it should be close. Man was the axle pivot bushing for the pass side a pain. Tonight we did a few of the rear bushings but ran out of time. Going...

1g to 3g Alt Sawp on 1983 6.9 (Wiring Question)

Not sure how close to the same it is, but I just did my 85 and the three wires coming off are the: Yellow=supply for two fusible links going to ignition (orange), and lighting (dark green). There is another going to the glow plug harness, I believe and one more which I can't remember. The truck...

Leaf bushings weren't terrible. Axle pivot was a pain. Probably easier on the ground to have the axles collapsed. Getting these in then on to tie rods. Body mounts if im feeling froggy. Rear set later in the week

Fab shop I work at. The original shop my buddy bought has the lift and lots of vehicle tools to maintain our shop vehicles, the other shop is our main workplace. Nice to be able to leave the truck there and work on it as I go. Almost time to take the bike out! I like rolling in mud as much as...

Made a start at it today. Got ball joints in and the 3 front shaft ujoints. What an absolute pain. Glad I did it now while the truck is still generally rust free. Got the front shocks in too, packed in some new grease, and started on the leaf bushings. Tie rods first thing tomorrow and whatever...

I like to imagine I'm a bomber pilot in WWII heading thru turbulance as I drive down the road.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I agree. But when theres just one bar in the middle of nowhere and you've tried everything on the menu, mostly fried, it can wear in ya.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Always slipped my mind when traveling to reach out. Course, we usually worked 6-8 or so to get the job done. Ate too many meals at bars in small towns because the restaurants all close up shop early.

Just installed a steam turbine at the POET in Shelbyville. Frequented that RK.

    WTB winch bumper

Heres the bumper. Would be pretty easy to replicate. Note the angle iron cross member. The Ramsey winch bolts to the front of the bumper with four bolts. I replaced the rusted ones with some nice B12 hardware we had at the shop. I like this flats on this bumper because I can toss my foam pad on...

The 3G is in. Thanks @chillman88 for the help getting the correct parts. Utilized the walkthrough in the tech section, a recent thread with info from @CBRF3, and one or two from FTE. Amazing how many wires are spliced to the charge wire from factory. Also was able to clean up some grounds as...

    WTB winch bumper

That's what I've got on mine but chrome diamond plate. I took some pics for @chillman88 previously but I will attempt to get some better ones now and post them up. If this one flakes the chrome off and rusts, I may just make a new one.

Baby steps. Made up the driver's side battery tray and reservoir mount. Duplicated the stock one using 3/16 aluminum diamond plate. Everything fits snug. May have to clean up the corner touching the air intake tube and I want to reroute the battery cable and wiring. But I'm happy with it...
