Quigley E350 Van: No brake booster! What is wrong?

Yes and no. My vacuum pump was only putting out 5" and the light would come on here and there. On an hour trip it would maybe come on for a few seconds after using the brakes, then wouldn't be back on. The manuals state less than 10" so why was mine not on endlessly? Now that I have a good...

Quigley E350 Van: No brake booster! What is wrong?

Does the vacuum pump spin freely if you remove the belt? I just changed mine and it was wasy to spin by hand. New one was really stiff. 12.5 mbar on old VS 62 mbar.

Why do my radio's keep going out?

Our isuzu trooper's radio was not supported in the back so it would skip cds, tapes, and occasionally go out from bumps. Maybe yours needs a better mount?

So what did you do with your truck today?

Drove up to Maine yesterday to view houses, and wife, son, and new born daughter in back, dog up front. Hit 95 north to Winthrop for some listings then over on 2 west for a few more. Stayed in Berlin NH last night and took 2 to 91 south home. A few of the hills really slowed me down up there...

Why do my radio's keep going out?

There is a Radio Frequency Interference Capacitor (prior to 3G) next to the alt voltage regulator on the pass side fender well. Looks like a little tube. A lot of vehicles use these to cut down the noise from the alternator and other electrical equipment from interfering with the injection...

    Weird steering

The orientation side to side shouldn't matter, I usually mark the yokes to match the ujoints back together to keep it "factory". But if you replaced the shaft, then there isn't anytging to match up.

    Electrical Gremlin

It does sound like a relay issue. Relay #4 in the fuse panel for a 94. It could also be loose wiring in the headlight switch connector. Mine looked burnt so I bought a replacement on rock auto. The brown wire controls marker lights, tan/white controls running lights. Being an 85, my dimmer...

You marked the shafts so everything went back together in the same orientation?

So what did you do with your truck today?

I was stationed in Bremerton for 5 years and spent 2 more after I got out. Miss the views and the food. Tough to walk away from where the wife and I started our family but it was time.

Truck won't start with new starter/starter solenoid

Just did gasket today: 1 - pull vac pump 2 - clean area around fuel pump. I pressure washed. 3 - loosen hard line 5/8 wrench and remove both fuel lines 4 - loosen both bolts (9/16 socket) then tap pump to break gasket seat 5 - remove bolts then pump 6 - ford manual says shove rag in hole and...

    Betsy the Worktruck

5"hg at highway speeds and 0 when on the brakes. I never took the time to swap it over! I have yet to drill holes in the sides whe I bent the aluminum up, but I have the original hold downs and studs to go in there. They stay in place pretty well considering before the driver side was only on...

    Betsy the Worktruck

Finally got around to replacing the vacuum pump. After removing it yesterday, noticed the oil still leaking from below the fuel pumo so decided to replace that gasket while the VP was out. Pressure washed everything in the area and got to work. Bolts were pretty loose actually which is probably...

    Tapped hole in ATS collector

Concur. Buy a nice 400F heat crayon if you're unsure. And if using a torch to post cool, grab some beer, run the torch over for maybe 10 seconds, then off for a few sips, repeat increasing the amount of sips each time. If it feels like it's taking too long, good. Fat people always break nice...

Will a 96 Vacuum Pump interchange

They used the same pump on the E and F 100-350, Ranger, F-59, F-53, Bronco, Aerostar, Explorer from 83-93 and on the 84/85 Chevy S10 and Blazer. I wouldn't bet they all have the same pulley.

    Front Braided Lines

The lines, on my truck at least, run from the MC, down to the proportioning valve just below it, then one hard line attaches to the DS frame, the other routes under the engine to the PS frame, and the third along the rail to the rear. Maybe I will ask! @1mouse3 what does the routing look like...
